If you just want a reasonably affordable set of speakers, sometimes simple is best. Like these Microlab FC360 speakers.

I can only agree with the other reviews I've read. These are superb little speakers for the price.

Tried various (cheaper) brands before I got these, and what a difference. Great sound, look stylish. I would agree that the pop when you switch them on isn't great and the leads could be longer.
