Mirage Nanosat 5.1 review

It's safe to say that the Mirage Nanosat 5.1 Home Theater sounds unlike any box-type satellite/subwoofer combination system on the market. While conventional box speakers project sound forward, the Nanosat speakers are designed to produce a ratio of 30...

Compact and attractive 5.1 channel home theater speaker package with 8-inch powered subwoofer; omnipolar technology produces remarkably spacious sound; extra satellites are available.

The satellites imaging isn't as precisely focused as box speakers'; the sound may be too diffused for some tastes.

Mirage's gorgeous Nanosat 5.1 Home Theater System may be small, but it produces a huge, room-filling sound for music and movies.

Mirage Nanosat 5.1-Channel Speaker System

Mirage is a well known Canadian loudspeaker maker whose corporate identity hinges on two things: first, building high-performance omni-directional loudspeakers (which Mirage terms Omnipolar speakers), and second, offering speakers that deliver terrific...

Mirage Nanosat 5.1 System

You want the wraparound effect of full surround sound--but without those ugly speakers taking over your living room. The Mirage Nanosat 5.1 System may be just the ticket. The five slick-looking speakers are little larger than a softball, but they use...

These uniquely styled, compact satellite speakers are built around omnidirectional driver technology that creates a huge sound. The all-metal satellite cabinets are exquisitely finished, they have versatile mounting options, and the 8-inch, 75-watt...

The omnidirectional sound makes the Nanosat a less than ideal candidate for placement on a shelf under your TV (in the case of the center channel), and the lack of a crossover switch places that duty on your receiver. While the sound quality is great...

Despite their tiny size, the speakers of the Mirage Nanosat 5.1 System offered positively huge sound on CDs and DVDs, with only a few minor shortcomings.

Very nice sound

This is a great little speaker system. Me and my dad both bought one off Newegg right after Christmas when they had it bundled with an Onkyo 508 receiver. My dad was dead set on getting a bose system, because of he liked the sound and also the size of...

Much more affordable than Bose ; Really great sound ; Very compact, looks great in my living room

The center speaker looks the same as all the other ones, wish it had a lower profile because it's kind of high in front of the TV

Very Happy

I looked around a good bit before snagging a set of these (5.1) Clearly not at the top of the ratings but also not $5000 (or more) I took an old system of mixed AR/Bose speakers and replaced the lot with the Onkyo and the Mirage. I'm happy. The money...

Great sound. Radiates nicely. For me the response across frequencies was pretty good. I did spend some time locating the big sub and it seems pretty good now. I have an upscale Onkyo that drives these and after some tweaking with the onboard ballencing...

The ability of the sub to recognize when it's needed is OK but the blue power light will go on and was distracting. I toned it down with a small piece of electric tape. The nanosat stands are a bit pricey but I found others (Woot, maybe) that worked...

Niiice!

When I made my purchase it came with a Yamaha RX-V367 reciever as "a gift." The reciever is just ok. It's not the reciever I would "purchase". But what the heck, it was "free", so to speak. I wish my older HDTV had HDMI. It would have made the hook up...

Quality look and feel. Small, compact size. Very inobtrusive and a classy design. Wall mount brackets connectors in each speaker. Sound is clear, bright and accurate, but not too bright that it sounds tinnie or thin. Can play plenty loud in a carpeted...

Bass is not strong, which is not necessarily a con. I am not into major bass sounds, but if I ever wanted to watch a movie and really pump up the bass to scare the dog, the system is not going there. (If you are looking for a booming bass to rattle the...
