Lenovo revisits detachables at CES 2014 with the Miix 2

Can't decide between a Windows 8.1 tablet or an ultraportable laptop? The Miix 2 gives you both starting at a price of $499.

Lenovo Miix 2 review

Is this the Windows 8.1 tablet we've all been waiting for?

Light ; Nice design ; Good startup speeds ; Nice screen ; Decent price

Not that powerful ; Full version of Windows 8.1 is wasted ; Not much space on 32GB versions

The Miix 2 hasn't the best performance levels, but as long as you don't expect too much, it will serve most needs.

Lenovo Miix 2 Review: In Depth

Lenovo Miix 2 (10-inch) review: Clever keyboard and high-res screen for Miix 2

This 10-inch hybrid is flexible and feature-filled, but falls short for long-form typing.

The 10-inch Miix 2 has a high-res 1,920x1,200 display and a clever magnetic keyboard dock. The 128GB SSD is large for a hybrid tablet.

The keyboard and touchpad have just enough lag and ergonomic weirdness to discourage productivity, and the fixed angle may not work for you. The pokey Atom processor is better suited for some Windows tasks than others.

With a bigger screen than most Windows tablets and an included keyboard dock, the 10-inch Lenovo Miix 2 tries to walk the line between entertainment and productivity, but it's still a few keyboard tweaks away from success.

Lenovo Miix 2 11in review

A powerful tablet with the genes of a hybrid, and an intriguing keyboard dock design

On paper, with plenty of hardware packed in, a decent display and battery life, plus a bundled keyboard dock, the Lenovo Miix 2 11in looks pretty good value. The Core i5 version we tested comes in at £656 inc VAT including the keyboard dock and 256GB...

A competent Windows tablet let down by a disappointing screen and a lack of video output

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Shame on you, Lenovo

Don't be fooled by the specs. In real use, you're buying a tablet with a 600MHz processor. (Contact me for screen shots if you're interested.) Do not buy the Miix 2 11 at any price or with any configuration. It's a dog.

Small, light and very portable. Good battery life. You won't pull out your shoulder when you decide to chuck it out the window.

Absolutely horrible product all around. 1) The i5 processor "detunes" itself to 600MHz (67% under advertised specs!) as soon as you do anything processor intensive, causing lag and stuttering. It performs worse than a netbook I own that has an old Atom...

Lenovo Miix 2 11 FHD (59435483)

After 6 months of ownership and newegg won't help me out but tells me to contact the manufacturer. guess what ... Lenovo doesn't support this product because they no longer make it ... that makes be double out of luck on this product .... great...

The specs are what enticed me to buy

Garbage Build, the thing won't power up anymore after 6 months of ownership. All it saw was light office document work and youtube videos
