Panasonic TC-PGT50 review

If you're shopping for a 2012 TV and picture quality is your highest priority you should, in ascending order of financial recklessness, get a good plasma, splurge for an Elite or wait and buy an OL ED . If getting the best picture for your money is...

The Panasonic TC-PGT50 series exhibited outstanding overall picture quality, characterized by exceedingly deep black levels with great shadow detail, accurate colors, and solid bright-room performance. Unlike LCDs, as a plasma it has superb off-angle...

The GT50 isn't as strong a value as some competing plasmas. It uses more power than LCD TVs, and doesn't perform as well in bright rooms as those with matte screens. It doesn't come with 3D glasses. The GT50 is only available in 50-inch and larger sizes.

Superb picture quality and beautiful design place the Panasonic GT50 in the top tier of plasma TVs, but it's more expensive than others with similar performance.

Outstanding Top Quality TV Purchase Ever

I bought this TV as a replacement for my other Panasonic 47" LED from 2012. The repair person and the staff at the Best Buy store were very helpful. So I picked it out this one and only paid a small price because of the price difference. This was $700...

Amazing Picture...., Superb Smart TV Features, GREAT Sound and Excellent Quality Build & Craftsmanship.

There's nothing bad about this TV.

Mistaken 9/10 in picture quality. Too soft/not sharp!

I might be a bit picky when it comes to TVs, but I enjoy my old HP 42" 720p plasma from 2006 better. I was hoping for a big upgrade due to the reviews, but the GT50 looks better when it's off. I used C/nets rec settings and have a dark living room.

Even for being a person who appreciates plasmas, can't think of one.

Completely overrated. Soft smooth picture with very little sharpness. There's a reason C/net recommends you keep the sharpness to 0. If you turn it up, the picture becomes grainy and unbearable to watch.

great picture, but constant burn in

I would not disagree with any of the points made about the picture's quality- it is very good to say the least. I did see a lot of glare, but never got a chance to make any of the adjustments that may have reduced it. But.... the first model I...

GREAT TV! GREAT PRICE!

After doing a lot of research and reading countless reviews I decided to pull the trigger on the 55GT50. My previous TV was/is a 46" Samsung LCD from 2006. I was all set to order a new Samsung LED, but after reading several reviews and 2 trips to BB I...

Picture looks stunning Blacks are deep and realistic, especially in night scenes Built in WiFi, Netflix, apps, etc. are good quality and easy to navigate

TV is not sexy like some of the others Remote could use a makeover

Amazing picture:VT richer colors seen only side-by-side

I purchased this TV with picture quality being on the top of my list then price. I primarily watch Blu-ray, play PS3 games, netflix and so forth. This TV is the best I've had so far... although that can be expected for most newer generation of TVs....

Beautiful panel, excellent picture quality, elegant remote. Much better picture than my 2 year old Samsung B850 plasma (as expected)

Hmmm... can't think of any other than it's true size is 49.9" rather than 50" haha. This is typical though in the industry for plasmas I believe.

Good buy for most people, certainly plug and play

Good buy for most at $1500

Absolutely the best blacks you can get. The colors are rich and true. First time settup is a piece of cake and it found my wireless network immediately.

Good picture but a little soft. Would expect the sharp resolution to jump out at me but it does not. Specs call for three speakers, I can only find one in the back pointing at the wall. Will nee external speakers.

Finally, a plasma that looks good with the lights on

I bought this tv to replace a LCD that had bad off angle views and weak shadow details. The room is bright during the day and I often watch tv with a light on unless we're watching a movie. The THX Bright Room mode is nearly perfect out of the box. I...

1. Dual core processor 2. Picture looks stunning 3. Blacks are deep and realistic 4. Slim and sexy, very light and thin bezel 5. Built in WiFi, Netflix, apps, etc. 6. Menu and setup are easy

1. Thicker than LED, but not by much 2. Remote could use a makeover. However, the buttons are large and easy to use

More than worth the money, one of the Best Tv for 2012

You cannot go wrong with Any of the Panasonic Plasmas for the Money, whether it be the ST50 line, GT50 Line or VT50 Line. I dont have the money for the VT50 line but do for the GT50 and the GT50 for Design, THX setting(Katzmaier review said it had a...

A very good crisp picture edge to edge.

I am very pleased with this set so far and would recommend it to others,

Much better sound than previous model. Very easy and intuitive setup. 3D very good thru Blu-Ray. (My only real source for 3D.) Seems to be very solidly built.

Why can't they at least include any 3D glasses?(Two pair would be ideal)
