Philips PFL5603D review: Philips PFL5603D

Philips PFL5603D

Consumes less energy than any flat-panel TV we've tested; accurate primary colors; de-judder mode smoothes out motion; handsome styling; solid connectivity with four HDMI inputs.

Produces light black levels; energy-saving mode creates distracting black-level fluctuations; dark areas tend toward blue; de-judder processing introduces artifacts; sub-par off-angle viewing.

Although it has its share of picture-quality problems, the Eco-friendliness of Philips' 42PFL5603D flat-panel LCD will win the day for consumption-conscious shoppers.

Philips 52PFL5603D Eco TV

For the eco-friendly guy who'll skimp on plastic bags but not his TV viewing experience, Philips has the solution: the Eco TV.

Philips latest product in their line of flat panel HDTVs addresses one major issue with today's models, and that is power consumption. Deemed as the Eco TV, the 52PFL5603D might be a lot of screen, but it actually uses less power than any flat panel TV...

now i didnt buy this on new egg but was going to till i found a x-mas special else where, but this is a great price and would recommend to any one looking to get a HD LCD TV

Great viewing angles, the setup function when you first turn on the tv makes the picture to what you want with just a few selections and not having to try and adjust each setting. The auto crop for black bars is nice to resize non HD channels so they...

The auto crop is a little slow at times and will some times adjust for commerials and u may miss a little on the show, it also doesnt work on left/right bars just top/bottom so HD channels will look a little funnie when non HD show are played on them...
