Samsung PN43E450

When you think of a Samsung TV, you first think of an LED TV, right? The Korean company invented the somewhat misleading term , and has built its reputation on LED televisions over the last few years. But what may come as surprise is that the company's...

The inexpensive Samsung E450 series plasma TV is a well-rounded performer with deep black levels for the money and decent shadow detail. Color saturation is one of the TV's high points. The E450 uses less power than most plasmas its size.

The image washes out quite a bit in normal room lighting. The picture processing suffers from poor compatibility with 24p and 1080i material, and this could be symptomatic of the TV's low 720p resolution. Color accuracy is fairly poor.

The Samsung E450 series plasma may not be perfect, but you won't find another TV that performs this well for this low a price.

Samsung PN43D490

The Samsung PN43D490 is an odd one, to be sure. It's 3D-enabled, but has the very odd native resolution of 1024 × 768, which makes it more of an overgrown computer monitor than a TV. Practically speaking, this means that no broadcast standards are...

Relatively inexpensive for a plasma TV of this size ; Color performance matches what the movie producers intended ; Great contrast ratio

Native resolution does not match any broadcast signal

The Samsung PN43D490 is a modestly-priced plasma TV. It originally retailed at $649, but at the time of this review, that price has already dropped to $499, and probably lower from third party retailers. A quick glance at the specs sheet tells you this...

Samsung PN43E450 Review – 43-inch Plasma HDTV

With new television channels being launched at frequent intervals, it has become necessary for a modern family to possess more than one TV set. You can consider a 3D HDTV set for your main living room and complement it with an inexpensive and normal...

The model also lacks the online features offered by the high-end TV sets. But the manufacturer has designed the device with a set of input ports and terminals. A user can use these HDMI and USB ports to access his offline collection of movies, music,...

"Faulty product- thermal cracking. Samsung not covering."

Do not buy a plasma from Samsung. They are faulty and Samsung is not standing behind them. Search "thermal expansion crack" and you can see for yourself. I just threw away $1000.

Great TV when it works.

Interior of screen cracked after 5 months. Samsung says it is user-caused. BS. This is the same as 100's of other complaints- ONLY on Samsung TV's. Hmm, that seems like a product defect to me.

"Screen cracked on its own..."

I got this TV for my kids to play X-box on and to watch TVs and movies in the basement. For about 22 months, it worked absolutely great, and the picture was fantastic. Until, one day, a crack appeared, sort of under the glass. There was no apparent...

Had a great picture, when it used to work.

Not reliable, if it cracks, the repair will cost twice as much as the set costs new. Not sure they will even cover it under warranty, from what I've seen elsewhere.

"For a entry level 40+ inch TV this one is very nice."

Black are black and the TV's refreshing leaves few if any artifacts in the picture while under heavy actions scenes.

Design is a little clunky for a Samsung. If you hanging it the stand doesn't really matter then.

Samsung PN43D490

This TV replaced a aging LCD TV and I was amazed at the difference. Great image at any angle and when the screen goes black it looks like the set is OFF! I've watched a dozen or more 3D titles on this set and I'm impressed! I'd write more but Cnet...

43", Plasma, 3D and less than $700. Whats not to like? Awesome picture quality

The set does not come with 3D glasses. Screen gives off lots of heat. Now that the 51" big brother is only $200 more I wish I'd opted for that one

An amazing Television for the price

Overall, I am happy with this TV, This is the low end 3D, I realize that, but who has the money to through 2 plus Thousand dollars into a television with todays way of life. It does its job, viewing cable channels are nice, ease of setup with the cable...

I bought this TV for a bedroom replacement tube TV. First and foremost, it is CHEAP.... plasma's are generally cheaper than LCD TV's. But this one has great picture quality and has a firmware upgrade which really improved the pic quality. The true 3D i

The bad, lets see ; I always have been caution of plasma's, because of the burn in factor, but serious, who is going to leave their tv on pause or on for like 40 hours, really. As long as you turn your TV off when you are finished with it, this real
