Samsung PNE8000 review

The Samsung PNE8000 is easily the most full-featured plasma TV on the market; no other can touch its sheer doodad-ification. It's the opposite of a " dumb monitor, " building in not only the most app-happy Smart TV suite available, but also voice and...

The Samsung PNE8000 series exhibited outstanding overall picture quality, characterized by exceedingly deep black levels, accurate colors, superb video processing, and very good 3D. Unlike LCDs, as a plasma TV it has superb off-angle and uniformity...

Samsung charges too much for extra features that are largely unnecessary and poorly implemented. Its picture delivers slightly worse shadow detail and bright-room performance than some competitive plasmas, and its maximum light output is somewhat dim.

The expensive Samsung PNE8000 series comes through with stellar picture quality, but its main appeal is to people who crave the latest gadgetry in their plasma TV.

"Bad power supply"

WARNING! Do not purchase any television from Samsung. I expected years of service from a $3000 television. In less than 2 years the power supply failed on my Samsung plasma. (a simple Internet search will show you that the power supplies are poorly...

"Faulty screen that cracks called "THERMAL INFUSION"."

Samsung TVs have a manufacturers defect called THERMAL INFUSION. Unfortunately they automatically call it an owner caused issue even before they have any information on the TV. Anyone with half of a brain can see the cracks are behind the front glass...

NOTHING

Screen cracks behind outter glass.

"Great quality TV"

Fantastic TV! We love it! The biggest gripe would be the quality of standard definition shows my older parents watch since they have no interest in doing HD cable until they move in a few months across country. Then you bet I'll be plugging it into HD...

Picture quality

Standard definition quality isn't amazing - but not bad.

Picture quality Features 3D SmartHub NetFlix

Standard definition quality isn't amazing - but not bad. Confusing for my older parents when they use it, but they're getting the hang of it.

"Poor Workmanship and designed to fail."

It appears Samsung TVs have no quality control (other than the consumer being stuck with a defective product, so if you got a good one, you are very lucky, but I suspect you will have problems at some point). Right out of the factory sealed box, my...

U-Tube is worth the slow painstaking process to get to.

Poor quality control, terrible customer service, if you get stuck with a bad one, like me, you are SOL. Problem appears to be with all high end Samsung TVs.

Very Good but can be better.

A great buy for US$1250 or less. Comparable with Panasonic GT50. Worth trying.

Great vivid colours. Black levels are good. Great smart applications.

3D depth control is missing!! White background is dull. Little bit of Cross talk in 3D.

Our first tv was faulty and second lasted 7 days.

It's our 2nd Samsung tv the first was an LCD which lasted 4 years & broke down. Seriously thought they would have improved but clearly they got worse. Never again. What a waste of $2500.....

When the tv works the picture is excellent.

Two brand new tv's broken down in a matter of 10 days. At no stage have Samsung apologised for this and they have been very frustrating to deal with. Still waiting to hear when we can receive a replacement...
