Toshiba 55TL515U

Though its built-in Wi-Fi and passive 3D are handy and its colors are accurate, crosstalk and only decent shadow detail prevent the Toshiba 55TL515U from having top-notch picture quality.

Strong color reproduction. Built-in Wi-Fi. Convenient passive 3D.

Mediocre black levels. 3D sometimes shows significant crosstalk.

Toshiba 55TL515U Review – 55-inch LCD HDTV

With 3D television sets becoming active in the market, the competition is quite stiff among all the 3D models. Owing to the convenience offered by passive 3D due to the absence of heavy shutter glasses has taken over the market despite of its...

Toshiba 55TL515U 3D LCD HDTV

The last three flat-panel HDTVs reviewed in these pages averaged over $4,000 each—a figure inflated, to be sure, by one of them costing $6,000. Statement products tell us what's possible and where the technology is going. Most Home Theater readers want...

I fear I may have listed more negatives than positives here. The set’s color management system—ColorMaster—proved to be more of an annoyance than it was worth (see HT Labs Measures). The clipping that occurs above white and below black made the...

Toshiba 55TL515U 3D LCD HDTV

But the reality for most folks is that even in these days of continually dropping HDTV prices, $2,000 is the mark of an expensive television. And Toshiba hopes it has your number. At $1,800 (and we've seen it heavily discounted), the 55-inch 55TL515U...

Toshiba 55TL515U LED Backlit LCD TV Review

The 55TL515U is a LED edge lit passive 3D television from Toshiba, this is a top line television that includes many features such as Toshiba's full NetCast online entertainment suite. Jack Burden conducts the full written review of this new 3D TV from...

With most LED-LCD TVs we recommend turning off the 240Hz anti-judder control feature due to unwelcome consequences. However, the judder (jerky effects as images move across the screen) on the TL515 are pretty bad and warrant the feature – called Clear...

Toshiba 55Tl515U

While the Toshiba 55TL515U isn't the best LED TV on our lineup, it still competes well with some of the higher-end models. Toshiba has improved on the display significantly from earlier LED models, but the company hasn't quite made it to the same level...

Local dimming and 3D capabilities keep this TV in the race with the top-rated models

Drawbacks in customer support and the lack of a few connectors hold this set back

If you're willing to scrimp on connectors and some customer-service options, the Toshiba 55TL515U will serve your needs adequately.

Right our of the box the TL515 is set to the Autoview picture mode setting which we find very tolerable when compared to most preset mode picture settings. This setting automatically adjusts contrast for room light by using Toshiba's inbuilt Dynalight...

Bit the bullet Great for Gaming!

Considering the price, i am more than satisfied. The TV arrived both EARLY and LATE, (I expected the TV to come Monday the 30th of Jan 2012) but the shipping company called me on Tuesday the 24th (only 3 days after pressing "submit order" XD and said...

OK, for the sake of argument im going to nitpick ; 1) 2D to 3D conversion is... its not bad, its just disapointing? I guess would be the best way to state it... I didn't expect much but lets be honest I had to take the glasses off just to make sure...

Performance Price

I have the older model in my living room, its great for gaming, the screen cuts some corners on image quality to achieve gaming performance, but its worth it.... you have almost no input lag for games... even the Wii which is notorious for LCD lag...
