Vizio SV421XVT 42-inch LCD

The Vizio SV421XVT has a 42-inch screen, a 240Hz refresh rate, and multimedia playback from USB drives, all for an estimated street price of $900 (as of 9/25/2009). But poorly rendered detail and color, plus problems with digital artifacts, mar the...

Excelent remote control ; Low price

Images marred by digital artifacts ; Can't turn off illuminated logo on bezel

While it put up good numbers all-around, this 42-inch, 240Hz set had a hard time displaying fine details.

VIZIO SV421XVT Review – 42-inch LCD HDTV

SV421XVT. Known for its lower price HDTV”s, the new VIZIO SV421XVT 240Hz LCD TV with a price tag of around $1,099 is the least expensive of its breed. Slated to be available in the summer of 2009, this XVT series LCD TV from VIZIO is loaded with many...

The new SV421XVT LCD TV is embedded with advance and improvised audio technologies such as SRS TruVolume™ and SRS TruSurround HD ™ with the integration of a speaker bar to produce full-bodied electrifying sound from the two 15W speakers. With great...

if you come across one of these get it, even in 2016

heck yeah, no apps! yeah! don't want my tv selling me other things. Had a WD Live hooked up to it for years to stream from computer and now a dedicated HTPC.

Works well, really good picture, bought it for sports (240Hz), good in sunny room, has all the old connections meaning it can play video (mp4) from a USB stick plugged into it (this feature was disabled in many "smart" tvs to encourage use of their...

Nothing. By today's standards it may be bulky but it was a flagship device built really solidly and we've been using it since 2009 with just as good a picture as most new affordable (non 4k, though i've never seen a 4k in person) models.

Vizio 42" LCD HDTV

There may be a different remote supplied than the one pictured. The newer smaller remote (not pictured) does not seem to have a "learn mode", which is used to capture codes from another remote. Vizio sent me (N/C) the remote pictured (has Learn Mode)...

Good LCD TV no problems Replaced a failed Phillips CRT HDTV ; Good picture quality, works well from antenna, cable box, XBox 360, and DVR. Good Customer Service

The brushed aluminum plate should be less visible. Other Vizio models have a brushed black plate that I prefer ; (Minor Quibble)

Inferior HDMI ports

We purchased this TV as a birthday present for my husband whose birthday happened to be on Superbowl Sunday this year. We love the TV. The picture is insanely beautiful. The sound is fine. Our biggest problem! After only two months all of the HDMI...

Great TV

I purchased my TV the end of November and had the impression I would receive it in about a week, not so... The delivery service was terrible, I had to make the calls trying to track it down and find out, where it was at. after a couple weeks of this I...

So Far So Good

Upgraded from a 36" Sony Wega. I did a lot of research and basically settled on the fact that I would be buying a Vizio based on the 240 Hz, the pricing and the reviews. I really wanted to get the sv422xvt because I liked the idea of the internet...
