I whack as much dust as I can out of the Bissel Pet Hair Eraser filter whenever I empty it, but after a while it became obvious that it wasn't working as well as it used to. This replacement filter made it work like new again.

Definitely better than my Dyson that this replaced but you have to still seriously put in some work to remove pet hairs. That said, I think our Dalmatians hair is potential quite tricky as it is coarse and stiff, also they malt heavily.
