I think this unit probably performed as well as an 8000 BTU air conditioner can in a large room that I now know should have a larger one.

Quit cooling completely after almost NO use. I was appalled when I turned it on this year and it put out NO cool air. It was carefully handled and stored in my home in its original box, covered with a heavy cloth, just to be sure.

Very easy to setup/use. Remote had its own thermostat which was very nice. Filters were also easy to clean. When it comes to price vs. value, this unit is worth it.

Like any window unit, it make decent noise when it spins up to high, but it easily tolerated. You could also hear the compressor kick on occasionally which created a slight bang. (Possible I did not have the unit mounted properly).

Unit does not "freeze the sweat off my face" when I come in from outside work. It's likely that's saving me from having a stroke or "catching pneumonia" as my grandmother would say, but honestly I wouldn't mind it.
