Considered DIY switches for my speaker systems but people kept pointing out the hazards and damage which could ensue. The QED switch seems to be the answer, works very nicely and not that expensive.

Use these in a small Electrolux Boss cylinder hoover, very good product but quite expensive. I mostly use this hoover for cleaning my car so really would be better off with cheaper paper bags but if you want a good quality product these fit the bill.
