Sonos released an app last year turning iPhones and iPod touches into very capable remote controls for the company's excellent wireless home audio system. It was, therefore, only a matter of time before Sonos issued an update to the standard remote...
Seamless integration of personal music libraries and Web music services. High-quality wireless audio streaming. Touch-screen remote is well-designed, fast, and intuitive
No video or photo support. Very expensive for a product that doesn't include speakers
While it's not a toy for those with tight budgets, the well-executed but pricey Sonos Bundle 250 is worth every penny. It's the most seamless way to get your music into every room of the house.

The best multi-room digital music system just got better - much better!
The Sonos BU250 bundle may be £100 more than last year's BU150, but it's worth it. The new controller is an absolute gem, and shows that Sonos has taken its time to produce something special rather than jumping on the touch-screen bandwagon too early....

Best Multiroom streamer, Award 2011. The best wireless music system in the business

An excellent touchscreen remote and equally usable iPhone remote app breathe new life into Sonos' excellent multi-room digital-audio system.
Two-room, wireless digital audio system ; Expandable to as many as 32 rooms ; Wireless touchscreen remote ; iPhone or iPod Touch control via free app ; Easy set-up and installation for most home networks ; Streams the same or different music to each...
Needs hard-wired connection to base station or wireless bridge accessory ; Podcast access could be more streamlined ; Competing Logitech products offer more music options for less money ; Touchscreen remote does little more than iPhone remote app
Yes, AU$1799 is not cheap, and we have a handful of remaining quibbles (one wired connection needed, no black-finish option and less-than-optimal podcast support). But considering it's a two-room audio system that's been updated with an impressive...

The venerable Sonos has had a few hardware tweaks – including a stonking new controller. Time to bin that iPod Touch?

A gorgeous new controller makes this the best Sonos system ever – just take note of that high price.

The multi-room system gets a new iPhone-style touch-screen controller
(Fairly) easy set-up, very easy to use, versatile, expandable, good sound quality
Occasional signal dropouts, no controller app for non-Apple devices
There's also the ?79 BR100 ZoneBridge, available separately, which has no audio outputs at all but simply acts as a connection between ZonePlayers to extend the range, or as the first point of contact with your computer or wireless router
Consumer review (cnet.com.au)
My experience with the Sonos bundle has been very good. The set-up was straightforward and didn't take much time. I have this connected to speakers in my kitchen, a Zone Player S5 in the bedroom, and patio speakers. I typically stream music from...

Final Thoughts
Easy setup * Surprisingly good sound quality * Loads, loads, and more loads of music services available * Free Sonos Controller iPhone/iPod touch app is the cat's pajamas with bees' knees printed on them
The S5 isn't quite as "all-in-one" as its name implies, since the proprietary network makes two ZonePlayers or a ZoneBridge necessary for wireless access, adding to the cost * While setup is easy, if you run into any snags they're hard to fix *...

Best there is. You pay for it, but the way it works makes it worth every dollar. Brilliant interface, sound quality, features.
