I was able to upgrade this player to the BD.4.894.00 firmware by downloading that firmware from the BD550 unit, copying it to a USB stick and upgrading the player. It worked fine, and you end up with later firmware than by doing an online update.

The box works fine for Netflix. The picture is clear and it is easy to setup. However you can't ad new channels like Amazon. Without being able to ad other streaming channels it is a waste of money
