Panasonic DMP-BDT330 and DMP-BDT230 3D Blu-ray Disc Players

At CES Panasonic introduced two new 3D Blu-ray Disc Players, the DMP-BDT330, DMP-BDT230. Panasonic is also continuing to manufacture its 3D 2012 models (the DMP-BDT500 and DMP-BBT01).

Panasonic DMP-BDT330 3D Network Blu-ray Disc Player Review

The DMP-BDT330 isn't perfect, but it is still a pretty impressive Blu-ray Disc player. Starting with its slim, compact design, and overall video, audio performance, and then moving into its internet streaming and network content access, this unit is...

Panasonic DMP-BDT330 review

Panasonic's premium Blu-ray player is a class act

Eye-catching design ; Sumptuous 2D and 3D pictures ; Remarkably easy to use

Viera Connect layout and content ; Clunky web browser and media menus ; No MKV support over network

These are joined by an optical digital output and an Ethernet port, which completes a measly selection for such a pricey player, aside from dual HDMIs. Most notable is the complete absence of analogue audio outputs, revealing that this is not a player...

Panasonic DMP-BDT330 review

Fast, super-smart and UHD-capable

Superb Blu-ray images ; SD card slot ; Netflix shortcut button ; UHD upscaling

Uses 2012 smart TV GUI ; Basic user interface ; No touchpad remote ; No analogue audio outs

We've got no complaints about Blu-ray playback, either in 2D or 3D, while DVDs and online video are skilfully upscaled. However, since there are no analogue outputs we wonder who the Panasonic DMP-BDT330's key feature - Ultra HD/4K upscaling - is...

Panasonic DMP-BDT330

Not the smartest player around but one of the best performing

Excellent picture ; Rich colours ; Authoritative sound

Limited catch-up TV content ; Sound could be more dynamic

The Panasonic DMP-BDT330’s smart content isn’t anything extraordinary, but the key thing is its Blu-ray performance, and here we are very impressed.

Panasonic DMP-BDT330 Blu-ray player review

Panasonic's new DMP-BDT330 is a curious beast. The most expensive of the brand's freshly-minted 2013 BD spinners, casual observers could be forgiven for thinking it's the Japanese marque's top HD dog. However, last year's DMP-BDT500 is being retained...

Commendable AV quality; neat form factor; Miracast feature; 4K upscaling should you feel the need for it

Doesn't offer the new My Home Screen Smart portal; no analogue outputs; audio output needs tweaking

Panasonic DMP-BDT330 review

Panasonic crams 4K-upscaling and other goodies into its Blu-ray player. But is the DMP-BDT330 worth a tidy price? Why yes, yes it is

Excellent picture and sound ; Nice design ; Plenty of connections ; 4K upscaling

Could do with more smart content ; Menu system could be simpler

Interface and smart content could do with a bit of work, but for picture and sound this is a cracking Blu-ray disc-spinner
