Canon DC210

Low price, Many controls

No USB port, Low still-image quality

This budget camcorder offers a lot of controls and a fast zoom, but image quality is middle-of-the-road.

Blessed with a very low price, the DC210 ($380 as of April 24, 2007) offers a fair number of features. It captured good, but not great, video in our lab tests. It won't double well as a camera, however, having earned a Poor in our tests for still image...

Canon DC210 Camcorder Review

The DC210 is Canon's entry-level DVD camcorder, and is identical to the DC220 except for the lack of a MiniSD card slot and a USB slot, the latter causing some degree of consternation. In this price range, finding a camcorder that takes good video is...

The Canon DC210 is an entry level DVD camcorder with a solid set of manual controls, but a serious dearth of connection options. We like the handling and menu operation, for the most part. DVD is inherently easy to use, thus it enjoys a wide popularity...

Canon DC210 Review and Prices

The DC210 is the entry-level unit in Canon's range of DVD camcorders. This DV camcorder offers the same handling and performance as the next unit up (the DC220) but lacks a couple of that camera's features, most notably a USB port. When it comes to...

Simple to use, great handling, powerful zoom

No USB port, low end image quality, poor low light performance

Canon DC 210

35x optical zoom, Plenty of functions for the asking price

0.8Mp, Complex interface

The DC210 performs solidly for an entry-level, low resolution camera. However, it's difficult to recommend in the face of superior DVD models which are only slightly more expensive.

Blessed with a very low price, the Canon DC210 offers a fair number of features. The Canon DC210 captured good but not great, video in PC Advisor's lab tests.

As long as you don't object to having to master many controls, the Canon DC210 has genuine appeal, thanks to its low price and powerful zoom. Latest camcorder reviews:Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG65 SD Card camcorderPanasonic VDR-D310 DV camcorderJVC Everio...

Canon DC210 Silver 35X Optical Zoom DVD Digital Camcorder

I spent over a week trying to figure out how to edit the video from this camcorder on the computer. I was never able to open the VRO file it creates, and working with the VOBs proved difficult. I ultimately exchanged this for a minidv based camcorder...

Records directly to DVD for easy viewing on a television (in DVD video mode, not the editable VRO mode)

Grainy image quality, almost impossible to edit the video on a computer

Not a Bad Little Camera

I'm not sure why others have given this camcorder such a bad review. I enjoy using it. The picture quality is quite good. Looks about the same as my friend's fancy Sony camcorder and is also on par with my previous Panasonic camcorder (which cost me 3x...

Light weight, good price for a DVD camcorder, nice video quality, easy editing from camera

No USB option (I believe the DC220 has that option)
