Sony Handycam HDR-CX160Camcorder Review

The Handycam HDR-CX160 is a small, entry-level HD camcorder from Sony that retails for $499. The camcorder is an update of last year's HDR-CX150, and we were impressed by the additions and enhancements Sony made to the new model, which include a...

Sony HDR-CX160

Follows up last year's model nicely, but doesn't really make any big steps forward

Shoots both SD and HD; Great battery life

Not the best low light performance; Mediocre color and noise

The Sony Handycam HDR-CX160 is a worthy successor to last year’s HDR-CX150, but Sony left us a bit disappointed in the end. We would have been supremely impressed with the CX160 if only Sony had been able to improve the performance on the little...

great camcorder

Nice small unit that is easy to use. Picture quality is awesome. I bought a 32 gb card so I will have more than 12 hours use plus if needed there is the internal 16 gb memory that will give me 6 more hours.

Great entry-level HD camcorder

For an entry level HD camcorder, the HDR-CX160 is awesome. My old camera is a Sony digital 8mm I bought in 2004, so for me this is a huge technological leap forward. My old camcorder took very good standard definition (SD) shots, but it's nothing...

great quality but mts is awful

This camera shows high quality pictures and video indeed! But I can't share my videos with anyone. I download to a dvd, cd or flash drive and no one I give my films to are able to open the mts files. So the camera does what I need it to do, but if I...
