Preview Acer Liquid S1 Phablet

Liquid gold? We had the opportunity to test out a pre-series mode

Chic design; Good manufacturing quality; Bright display; Low energy consumption; Good performance scores

Little internal storage space; (Currently) poorly tuned monitor; (Currently) somewhat ramshackle back cover; Short battery life; Bad camera

How fast you get used to the bigger screen.

Acer Liquid S1 Review

The phablet category is getting quite the love from phone makers this season, and Acer is throwing a horse in the race with the Liquid S1. Its specs are decidedly in the lower midrange category, with an HD screen and a MediaTek processor, but Acer made...

Dual SIM connectivity ; Wide-angle front camera

Heavy, crude design ; Weak processor ; Bad screen viewing angles ; Subpar call quality

Acer's first phablet effort, the Liquid S1, is just that - an effort. The heavy and cumbersome design paired with weak chipset, subpar display and camera performance, form an underwhelming Android device.

Acer Liquid S1 review

What's old is new again has never been a mantra adopted by the mobile industry — the opposite is in fact true — but the rise of the unlocked smartphone could change that to some extent.

Acer Liquid S1 Review

Acer really has a nice offering in the form of the Liquid S1. It has a large HD display, great build and design, good camera, dual-SIM capabilities, and very decent battery life too. It even comes with a really neat leatherette flip cover out of the box.

Acer Liquid S1 pictures and hands-on - Pocket-lint

Acer Liquid S1 review

Acer lets Android breathe ; Float UI is cool

Low battery ; No LTE

The Liquid S1 needs to be well priced, as it's up against the Galaxy Note 3. If big screens are your thing, the Float features of the Liquid S1 nicely make the most of the phone's 5.7-inch display, making for a reasonable, if unremarkable, phone.

If you have wanted to dip your toe in the phablet waters before now, but have found the options available just that bit too rich the compromises the Acer S1 has made to reach its £200 price point are small enough that it becomes worth a look.

Acer Liquid S1 Review

Acer Liquid S1 is the latest dual SIM based Android Phablet. It has been included with some improved features.

• Impressive Float UI ; • DTS Audio Enhancement ; • Dual-SIM phablet ; • Few nice

• Poor screen brightness ; • One handed operation is impossible ; • Plasticky feel ; • Average battery life ; • Screen prone to fingerprints

Acer Liquid S1 felt quite underwhelming and it doesn’t boasts of many unique features. It offers all the basics of Android smart phone and at 19k- it looks like a modest offering from Acer. The handset has been included with reasonable specs that do...

Acer Liquid S1 – Review

The Acer Liquid S1 is a great big phone with a reasonable spec and a reasonable price. Especially for the Dual SIM version (about £269). You get a lot of features that all work well. But there are a few negatives though.

The MediaTek chip used in the Acer S1 is well known to have GPS issues. Because of that it just basically doesn’t work. Here is a GPS test app attempting to get a fix. The Acer Liquid S1 is a great big phone with a reasonable spec and a reasonable...
