Asus ZenFone V

The Verizon exclusive Asus ZenFone V has a sleek build and specs that pack a punch for a very affordable price.

Solid specs for the price. Crisp display. Sleek build. Long battery life. Good network performance.

Mediocre camera. Heavy UI layer.

The $240 Asus ZenFone V gives you last year's flagship specs for a midrange price. It has strong (LTE-only) connectivity on Verizon's network, and hardware that's powerful enough to handle multitasking and gaming alike. And it's only $30 more than the...

Asus ZenFone 5: Cool features and an attractive price undercut by poor performance

The 5-inch ZenFone has features that high-end flagship phones will envy, but lacks the power to pull it off.

The Asus ZenFone 5's simple design and sturdy build impress. The Asus ZenUI comes with interesting new features that enhance the Android experience.

The camera shutter is a little slow, even in bright daylight.

The ZenFone 5 is able to give other budget handsets such as Xiaomi's Redmi a challenge but in order to get the best from the phone, be sure to get the 2GB version to avoid any performance issues.

Asus ZenFone 5 review

The Asus ZenFone 5 comes packed with plenty of features: It has a sleek, minimalist design that resembles the ambitious and expensive PadFone range, but it retails at an extremely affordable non-contract price: around $190, £130 or AU$200. It all...

Asus Zenfone 5 Smartphone Review

Piece of art. Awarded with a design prize, available for a low price as an entry-level device and also really comfortable in the hands: The 5-inch Asus Zenfone 5 checks many of the right boxes in our review and only reveals a few drawbacks.

Inexpensive, HD resolution, Scratch-proof display, High build quality, LTE support, Current Android OS, Good camera, Powerful enough for current games, Low operating temperatures, Long battery runtimes

Dirt-repellant coating pretty useless, Only 3.7 GB storage for the user, Integrated battery, Small performance headroom for the next generation of games

The Zenfone 5 is a new powerful 5-inch entry-level device in Asus’ smartphone portfolio, which offers quite a lot of features for the comparatively low price. Highlights of the smartphone are the current Android 4.4.2 including ZenUI extension, LTE...

Asus Zenfone V Review

Selling for $384, Asus looks to be taking a crack at the “affordable flagship” division with the Zenfone V, albeit a contender better suited for 2016, and thusly forfeiting such a distinction in 2017. Still, many 2016 phones can hang just fine with...

Glass and metal give a more premium fit and finish ; Camera captures excellent details in almost any lighting ; Quick performance ; Sharp 1080p AMOLED display

Camera is inconsistent with color reproduction ; Battery life withers away quickly

Asus ZenFone 5 review: A mid-range handset with hidden depths Review | ZDNet

The ZenFone 5 is unremarkable in terms of design and hardware specs, but includes a range of AI-related features that lift it above the ordinary.

High quality 6.2-inch screen ; 90% screen-to-body ratio ; All-day battery life ; Some clever AI features ; Well placed fingerprint sensor

Slippy glass back ; Second SIM is sacrificed for MicroSD

Asus ZenFone 5: premium design, moderate price

Asus has changed its strategy, presenting fewer but better quality smartphones. The Zenfone 5 is a mid-range device, but with its design, it looks like a premium smartphone. Here is our full review.

Good screen ; Attractive design ; Powerful speakers ; Value for money ; Battery life

Zen UI customization ; No IP certification ; Very slippery ; Application of slow motion

The AsusZenfone 5 competes in a league with tough rivals such as the Huawei P20 Lite or the Honor 10 . Even so, it performs well and can be considered one of the most interesting mid-range devices today. Its design attracts attention, and its battery,...

Asus ZenFone 5 Is a Cheaper iPhone X with a Bigger Screen

Asus has disguised its latest mid-range Android phone as an iPhone X, but that's where the similarities end.

ASUS Zenfone V review: A very cheap Verizon exclusive that gets the job done

Asus has been busy in 2017, but amongst the madness that is the Zenfone 4 family, the company took some time to partner with Verizon to launch another

Ergonomics ; This phone feels very nice in the hand. It’s a tad slippery, though, not to mention being a fingerprint magnet and easily scratched. ; Performance ; With the lighter version of ZenUI, the Snapdragon 820 carries this phone along well for...

Software ; The Zenfone V launches with Nougat, but just 7.0 (versus the 7.1.1 on other recent Asus phones). This being a Verizon-exclusive also doesn’t bode well on timely software updates. This version of ZenUI may be the best yet, but it still has...

Update anxiety is certainly warranted here. I do not trust Asus on its own to provide timely updates, let alone with Big Red in the mix. If you're unbothered by the latest OS version or up-to-date security patches, then I think you need not worry about...
