Google Pixel Fold review: is it still worth buying?

The Google Pixel Fold has arrived, but is it worth that huge $1,799 price tag? We find out in our full review.

Solid build quality Great cover display size Barely any gap when closed Beautiful displays Fantastic cameras Fast performance

Cover display scratches easily One-day battery life Poor wireless charging options

“The Google Pixel Fold has a lot to love. With a comfortable design, excellent displays, and fantastic cameras, it's a true contender in the foldable race.”

Review: Google Pixel Fold

The company's new $1,799 smartphone proves the future is foldable.

It folds like a book! Wider screens make it much nicer to use than Samsung’s Fold4. Multitasking is easy. Excellent AMOLED displays. Good battery life and performance. Smart software. Nice cameras. Lengthy software support.

Too expensive. Camera preview on front screen disables the inner screen.

Google Pixel Fold review: closing the gap

The Google Pixel Fold is a lot of phone. It's heavy, expensive, and often great. But it's also every bit the first-generation product that it is, and it's not ready to take the foldable fight to Samsung just yet.

Reliable Pixel cameras ; Landscape form factor is great for videos ; Very usable outer display

Questionable durability ; Heavy and pricey ; Limited multitasking features

The Pixel Fold’s heaviness plays a big part in this. It’s uncomfortable to use it folded for very long, even if the outer screen format feels more natural than the remote control-esque Galaxy Z Fold 4. You notice its weight in your pocket, tote bag,...

Google Pixel Fold review: A formidable first foldable

Slim, new foldable design, same old processor

Slim, sturdy design ; Bright, vivid display ; Pixel software features and support ; Solid battery life ; Gorgeous Pixel-quality photos ; Editor in Chief

Expensive at $1,799, even for a foldable ; Same CPU as the $499 Pixel 7a ; Slow charging speeds

The Pixel Fold is Google's first foray into the foldable space brings an incredibly slim design, beyond all-day battery life and Google's excellent camera at an eye-watering price.

Google Pixel Fold Review: Smooth Innovation At A Considerable Cost - SlashGear

The Pixel Fold is a smartphone with a foldable display that is the new most expensive phone ever released by Google -- could it possibly be worth the cash?

Foldable display is robust and high-end ; Versatility afforded by transforming hardware ; Front display realistically usable as smartphone ; 120Hz displays in and out ; Software accommodates apps regardless of optimization ; Wireless charging/Fast...

Gets a little warm when playing 120Hz games ; 120Hz refresh, bright screen drain battery quick ; Undeniably expensive

Google Pixel Fold Review: finally, a folding phone you can enjoy using even without unfolding

The Google Pixel Fold brings fresh competition to the Galaxy Fold series and comes with a sturdy hinge and a similar, book-like folding form factor...

Gets the foldable design right ; Front screen is a lot more useful than on Galaxy Fold ; Beautiful and clean interface with no bloatware ; Pixel camera look ; Decent battery life

Long-term durability is iffy ; Gets hot even with ordinary tasks ; Screen is very delicate, scratches from fingernails ; Screen is also very reflective, has a crease ; Pricey

Google Pixel Fold long-term review: A bold first step, just not the right one

The original Google Pixel Fold is a bold, unexpected first step into foldables, but a year later, it hasn't aged all that well.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL is big, expensive, and damn near perfect

Google's new phone is overshadowed by AI, but it shouldn't be

Fast, smooth performance ; Excellent, all-day battery life ; Class-leading camera features and quality ; Some AI features are pretty useful ; Beautiful new design and stunning display

Launches with Android 14 (lose a year of platform updates) ; $100 more expensive than last year ; 128GB default storage is not great at this price

Dbrand leather skin for the Google Pixel Fold review - Perfect! - The Gadgeteer

As long as you understand that a skin and that it will protect the phone from drops, having such a minimal “case” is liberating. It keeps your phone basically the same size as a naked phone, but it adds a little bit of scuff protection and a whole lot...

Easy to install ; Looks better and better with time
