Mobile Gazette readers may recognise the Touch Cruise 09 as O2 announced it late last year under the name O2 XDA Guide. This particular phone is also known as the HTC Iolite, which was its codename during development.

HTC Touch Cruise 09

HTC Touch Cruise 09 also known as HTC Iolite, is a smartphone with built-in GPS receiver, 2.8-inch touchscreen and 3.2 megapixel camera. Other features include Bluetooh 2.0 with A2DP, Wifi, USB and run on Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 Operating System.

Relatively cheap; nice design; fast processor

Some functions too complicated; unimpressive speakers

All in all, an elegant, practical and somewhat affordable smartphone that can be a little frustrating at times.

The PDA is as would be expected.. docks and syncs no probs with PC. After you work around the applications available, you get to realise the power and potential of this PDA. The Nav Tom Tom is great and its actve GPS is a real winner over other similar...

Applications and ease of use. Nav 10/10. PDA Excellent

HTC Touch Cruise (2009)

I upgraded from the older cruise. Very happy with purchase as included latest TomTom program V.7 and Australian maps as standard. This is my 5th HTC device in 4 years - all great products!

Great phone with no dropouts, reliable GPS, compact, good screen, touch flo , 3g

GPS button on front appears to not be working and has no option to assign program to it. Have checked another unit in shop and is the same. Unable to find any accessories as yey - however, this will change soon
