HTC Touch HD review: Windows almighty

The Touch HD is storming the WinMo stage to leave a footprint the size of half the HTC portfolio. Not so long ago we saw how sexy Windows Mobile can look, now it gets multimedia hot. There's TouchFLO 3D to roll the heavy WinMo machine into action...

HTC Touch HD is simply the next big thing in the Windows Mobile realm. And big is by no means limited to size. Indeed, the handset does come out a little too hefty but the feature pack is the kind to make you forget about size. The massive screen and...

HTC Touch HD (Unlocked) review: HTC Touch HD (Unlocked)

HTC Touch HD (Unlocked)

The HTC Touch HD boasts a spacious and sharp 3.8-inch WVGA touch screen, and offers integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The Windows Mobile smartphone also includes the Opera Web browser, YouTube app, and a 5-megapixel camera.

The Touch HD doesn't support U.S. 3G bands. The smartphone can be sluggish at times, and the video performance is disappointing. It's also expensive.

The HTC Touch HD dazzles with its large, high-resolution touch screen, but the smartphone's feature set and performance is average at best. You can get much more for your money.

The Touch HD is a fantastic phone, if you can afford one. It out-performs every HTC phone previously and looks fantastic doing it.

Beautiful, large display, Excellent performance, Good battery life, 3.5mm headphone socket, microSD expansion with 8GB card

HTC Touch HD Review

One of the most expected Windows Mobile-based smartphones of last year, the HTC Touch HD made its appearance on the market a little bit later than its main rivals Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 and Samsung i900 Omnia. Although many comparisons have been made...

The amazing touchscreen, the 5-megapixel camera, as well as the cool design are among the strong points of HTC Touch HD. I would also like to mention here the rich sales package that contains an 8GB microSD card. Music quality is also an improvement...

I would've expected some improvements in the performance department. I was pretty disappointed to find that HTC Touch HD seems to have almost the same benchmark results as Touch Pro. Not that the latter is not good enough, but smartphones that feature...

HTC Touch HD Review

Its combination of a large, high-resolution touchscreen, fast processor, and excellent battery life makes it a winner for those looking for a highly-capable smartphone

As an unlocked smartphone, this device is being sold directly to the public in the U.S. The up-side of this is it can be used with any GSM carrier; the down-side is that the Touch HD comes without a carrier subsidy. Expect to pay at least $700
