Battery runtime; Powerful SoC; Bright screen; LTE ready; Good primary camera; Build quality

Memory cannot be expanded; Too low contrast; Tight working memory capacity; Non-removable battery; Load temperature

The runtime is sometimes longer than Samsung's Galaxy S4 despite a lower battery capacity.

Huawei Ascend P2 Review

The Huawei Ascend P2 is marketed as the fastest LTE phone money can buy, and is a member of a mid-range category, but has a drool-worthy specs sheet. A quad-core processor powers the Ascend P2, while a 4.7-inch LCD display graces its front and a 13MP...

Beautiful 720p display ; Slim and light ; Support for 150Mbps LTE speeds ; Rich video file format support

No microSD card slot for storage expansion ; 1080p video looks average at best ; Power and volume buttons are a bit uncomfortable to press

All in all, the Huawei Ascend P2 is an okay mid-range Android smartphone. It is far from being the ultimate device of this class, but it gets the job done and it doesn't have any major drawbacks, save for the inexplicable lack of a microSD card slot....

Huawei Ascend P2 – Almost Fast and Furious

Besides its claim to be the world's fastest 4G LTE smartphone, does the Huawei Ascend P2 have any more tricks up its sleeves? We find out in this review if it lives up to its billing and more.

Slim and lightweight ; Excellent battery performance ; Bright and sharp display ; Decent imaging quality

Slightly sluggish performance ; Does not offer significant 4G speed boost ; No memory card slot - only 16GB built-in ; Glossy plastic back

By all accounts, Huawei achieved the same degree of success with the Ascend P2 as it did for the Ascend P1 a year ago. The Ascend P2 may not have the latest and best specifications on paper, but it delivered a pretty decent overall performance.

Huawei Ascend P2 Android phone (preview)

The Huawei Ascend P2, dubbed the

Cat 4 LTE speeds ; Slim and lightweight design ; Physical camera button

Display isn’t Full HD ; No expandable memory ; Ships with older version of Android

If you’re looking for a reasonably cheap Android smartphone with a 4G data connection, Huawei wants your attention. The Ascend P2 is designed to compete with high-end smartphones without breaking the bank.

Is the 'fastest smartphone in the world' actually the best Android phone to buy?

Great battery life, Bright, vibrant screen, Solid, robust design

Huawei Ascend P2

The Huawei P1 was a phone we very much liked. It took Huawei away from its fairly safe designs and into uncharted territory. A bold step for a company quite new to selling phones to consumers, and one that worked well Small, light, pleasant to look at...

Decent style, solid battery life, decent camera, good screen, custom UI is pleasant enough

Not that cheap, a bit laggy and slow, lacks the glamour of even an older iPhone or SGS

Small, light, pleasant to look at and packed with a decent screen and powerful processor. On the surface, the Huawei looks like the perfect purchase for many. The truth, however, is that it doesn't quite meet the spec with its performance. There's more...
