The Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G is a good phone with a too-short shelf life

Most people should just stick with the 4G-only version.

Great battery life ; Handy stylus features ; Healthy performance

Only two years of security updates ; Not a significant upgrade over the 4G-only version

The Moto G Stylus 5G features a big 6.8-inch screen, generous 5,000mAh battery, a built-in stylus for all your doodles and notes, and 5G support on Verizon and T-Mobile (with AT&T 5G to follow soon). For $399, it’s a good phone with a limited audience.

Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G Review

Solid 5G connectivity ; Incredible battery life ; Intuitive stylus features

No NFC ; Meager software upgrade policy ; No IP rating

The Moto G Stylus 5G is everything the Moto G Stylus should have been. With snappy performance, 5G connectivity, and a top-notch stylus, it’s the standout in Motorola’s otherwise mediocre 2021 G-series lineup.

The 2021 Moto G Stylus is a well-rounded budget phone

It's a good sub-$300 all-arounder with pen-focused features, too.

Useful stylus features ; Good battery life ; Capable processor/RAM combo

Only two years of security updates ; Poor ultrawide camera image quality ; Slow to receive OS updates

The 2021 Moto G Stylus is a well-rounded budget device that happens to include a stylus. With a large 6.8-inch screen, healthy 4,000mAh battery, and decent 48-megapixel main camera, it’s a great choice for stylus devotees looking for a cheaper Galaxy...

Motorola Moto G Stylus (2021) Review

Excellent battery life ; My UX adds helpful stylus-specific tweaks ; Well-placed fingerprint sensor

Dim display with shadows around the edges ; Minimal hardware updates compared with previous generation ; Mediocre cameras

The Moto G Stylus may woo those who want an S Pen–like experience for less than the cost of a Galaxy phone, but it falls short in almost every respect.

MOTO G STYLUS 5G REVIEW (2024): A NICE PHONE WITH AN OBVIOUS SECRET

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) from Motorola is yet another Android phone to add to the pile (in a non-cynical way) that could possibly get lost in the shuffle, but I kind of hope it doesn't. There are quite a few qualities to this latest version of Moto...

Big and vibrant display Decent speakers Photos and videos are nice and crisp Solid performance and battery life Intuitive and convenient stylus integration

Microphone recording quality is just OK Magnetic charging connection is weak

If you're looking to buy a Moto G Stylus 5G (2024), make sure you're paying attention to the date on the sale page. If you head to the Motorola store on Amazon and it's still summertime 2024, you'll likely still find the 2023/2022 versions of the G...

Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G review: is 5G really worth the extra $100?

Back in January, Motorola launched the $300 Moto G Stylus (2021), a lower mid-range phone with a vast 6.8-inch display and a capacitive stylus. In my review, I praised its rich user experience, but lamented Back in January, Motorola launched the $300...

5G support ; Decent display ; Headphone jack ; Ample storage ; Excellent battery life ; Almost stock Android

Too expensive ; Wrong chip ; Plastic build ; Middling cameras ; Mono speaker ; No NFC

Overpriced, underpowered, and still no NFC

Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G Review

Mere months after releasing a new pen-wielding handset, Motorola is already back with the Moto G Stylus 5G, an upgraded model that offers 5G connectivity and a number of upgrades across the board for $399. We had the chance to test the device briefly;...

Attractive, lightweight design ; Decent camera setup ; Ergonomic stylus ; Excellent battery life

Dated 60Hz display ; Rudimentary speakers ; No NFC ; Not the greatest value

Moto G Stylus Review (2021)

After the Moto G Stylus's unexpected success, Motorola was smart to release a follow-up this quickly. This time, the company has managed to double up on the model's strengths and add some welcome upgrades, making for a formidable midranger. At the same...

Solid performance and upgrade specs; Convenient, ergonomic stylus; Good cameras

No NFC; Only one year of software updates

Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 review: This $400 phone wants to be a flagship

Still, this is by far one of the best phones under $400, clearly punching well above its weight. I mean, the specs alone are enough to give the Samsung Galaxy S24 a run for its money... literally. Sure, a flagship chipset and Galaxy AI are nice, but if...

120Hz OLED display is great at this price Cameras are better than I expected Lovely software tweaks with Android 14 Very good performance from Snapdragon chip Nice hand taste with vegan leather back Great battery life with fast wired charging/wireless...

Improved stylus is still an afterthought Only one OS upgrade In-display fingerprint sensor is uncomfortably low Glance lock screen can be a nuisance

Motorola is great at making affordable phones with tons of value, but the new Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 is the most impressive mid-range phone I've ever tested from the company. With flagship characteristics like a 120Hz OLED display, wireless charging, a...

Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 Review: Hard to beat for the price

The mid-range phones with affordable pricing aren't usually the types of phones I tend to go for. I prefer the powerhouses with best-in-class cameras and top-notch specs. Basically the flagship phones. Unfortunately, those also come with a much higher...

Stylish and soft vegan leather in fun colors Decent camera Pretty good performance Dolby Atmos support for better entertainment Stylus for notes, drawing etc. 3.5mm headphone jack

Camera bump makes the phone rock a bit Only gets three years of OS updates Charging feels slower than it should

There are an awful lot of options for affordable smartphones out there. But I think Motorola has done a really good job here at separating itself apart from the competition in most cases. For $399 the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 is a very good setup. That...
