Nokia 7380 review: Weird and stylish

Nokia is a company, which can take liberty to experiment. And it does. The 7380 model looks like a chocolate bar. Instead of a display it has a small mirror, instead of a keypad – a scroll wheel. At the same time Nokia 7380 is a very good mobile phone...

Nokia 7380 is the most stylish of the most stylish. It is a phone made to radiate joy. The phone is a decorative accessory, a reason for brags and perhaps for some envy. If you tend to see this device from the "so this is the new nonsense from Nokia"...

Nokia 7380

The Nokia 7380 is definitely a phone to see and be seen with, but those used to letting their fingers do the talking may find this a tough sell.

Beautiful. Small and light. High-res camera.

No keypad. Voice dialing could be better.

Battery life was poor, which we expected from the meager 700-mAh battery: We got 4 hours, 5 minutes of talk time. But that's fine, given this phone's limited intended use. It will last through your night on the town and help you get a taxi the next...

Good speakerphone and earpiece sound quality, Exceptional design

Spinner wheel makes navigation easy but text and number entry painful

Reserved only to very stylish people. Others may prefer to get a less beautiful normal phone and hide it.

NOKIA 7380

Maximum talkime is 3 hours with up to 10 days standby. Nokia say that the 7380 should be available from Q1 2006 at a price of around 500 euros before subsidies and taxes.

Nokia 7380

Nokia 7380: A reflection of discerning taste. A leather cover and a mirrored display subtly mask the sophisticated technology, which includes a 2-megapixel camera and intuitive voice dialing

The camera is of a good quality is and it is again the handsfree function and speaker that scores. On the overall, the 7380 is an enormous improvement over the 7280. Whatever was found lacking in the 7280 is remedied in the 7380.

It's not everyone's cup of tea and it lacks some of the more advanced features we're used to seeing, but those who want to stand out in a crowd will probably enjoy this handset.
