Pantech Burst review: LTE on a budget

The Pantech Burst is the first budget oriented Android smartphone to hit AT&T's newly launched LTE network. Interestingly enough however, the fifty-dollar handset shares the exact same CPU and chipset as the top dogs in the carrier's 4G lineup. Throw a...

Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G support ; LTE network connectivity ; 4" Super AMOLED touchscreen with WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution ; Android OS v2.3.5 with a handy launcher from Pantech ; 1.5 GHz Scorpion dual-core CPU, Adreno 220 GPU, Qualcomm...

No dedicated camera key ; microSIM card slot ; Poor video recording quality ; Design is rather dull (especially the front of the device) ; Poor battery performance ; No office editor preinstalled (only a viewer)

Pantech Burst

Consider the high-end smartphone. While you lust after those, Pantech is on the prowl, steadily adding to and improving upon its army of budget offerings in the US. It may not be as formidable a force as the Samsungs and Motorolas of the world, but the...

Amazing performance ; Doesn't feel like a budget LTE phone ; Plenty of internal storage space

Unresponsive capacitive keys ; Camera needs some work ; Lackluster UI

If you're looking for LTE on the cheap, the Burst gives you some good bang for your buck.

Pantech Burst (AT&T)

The Pantech Burst is a good smartphone for users looking to tap into AT&T's 4G LTE network on a budget.

Inexpensive. Fast 4G LTE speeds. Lots of internal storage.

4G speeds aren't as fast as on other devices. Mediocre camera. Disappointing battery life.

User Interface, Multimedia, and Conclusions The Burst is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 processor, running Android Gingerbread 2.3.5. Pantech has said that the Burst will receive an upgrade to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)...

Pantech Burst Review: Fast and Affordable Android Phone

At CES this year, the arrival of inexpensive LTE phones and tablets was one of the overarching themes. In particular, AT&T was pushing this idea, releasing a slew of Android and Windows Phone 7 handsets on its 4G network. The Pantech Burst ($50 with a...

Smooth, fast performance ; Straightforward Android overlay

Pixels are visible in the display ; The camera isn't great

If you’re looking for an inexpensive LTE phone, the Pantech Burst is an excellent option--as long as you don't plan to use it as your primary camera.

Pantech Burst Review

Rather than letting the competition absorb the fruitful rewards associated with AT&T's 4G LTE network, the Pantech Burst is exploding onto the scene in hopes of gaining some sort of visibility with its oh-so lovable on-contract price of $49.99....

Pantech Burst Review: Inexpensive but Powerful

The Pantech Burst is a smartphone for the budget-minded consumer, available on AT&T. Despite its low price, it is surprisingly well supplied with features, including 4G LTE, but does have an Achilles heel. Read this in-depth review to get all the details.

Good size and weight ; Really nice display ; Good selection of pre-installed apps ; Very long battery life

Voice quality is truly awful at times ; No Office-compatible app included ; Camera is barely adequate

The Pantech Burst may not have the gee-whiz factor of some of the flashier recent smartphones, but it generally performs well and it’s hard to ignore the bargain price. It’s a good size, the screen is sharp, battery life is excellent, and performance...

Pantech Burst Review (AT&T)

This is the final review of the Pantech Burst for AT&T 4G LTE.

Super AMOLED Screen ; Call Quality ; Build Quality ; Mobile Hotspots ; Most proprietary apps can be uninstalled ; 4G (HSPA+ and LTE) ; Low price tag

No Headset or micro-HDMI Cable ; Limited LTE coverage ; Low indoor camera performance ; No microSD card

Pantech has not had the best reputation over the years for their build quality and support, but if the Burst is a preview of what is to come, Pantech might redeem their brand. With the excellent call quality (especially using the speakerphone), the...

Pantech Burst Written Review by Sydney

It's not every day you see a smartphone with a dual-core processor, 4G LTE capabilities, and a Super AMOLED display going for fifty bucks on-contract. For a phone of that caliber, you would generally expect to pay at least $100, if not $200.

LTE capable; gorgeous Super AMOLED display; great price; futuristic hardware design; super-fast dual-core processor; 16GB of internal memory

Pictures taken with the camera were too soft; HD video quality was disappointing; LTE means sub-par battery life; Pantech's UI is love it or hate it

It's not perfect but the pros far outweigh the cons. Definitely check out the Burst, even if you're not on a budget. Heck, check out the Burst and the Element and get them both for only fifty bucks more than the Galaxy S II Skyrocket by itself.

Pantech Burst review

The Pantech Burst is one of AT&T's latest LTE-enabled handsets, and it's clearly aimed at the first-time or budget-minded smartphone buyer. That's a huge market, and this is th...

It makes no sense to worry about saving $100 when you're signing up to spend about $2500 on your cell service for two years. The off contract price isn't a bad deal, especially for an LTE device, but if you're signing up for two years spend the extra...

Pantech Burst Review - Android Phone Reviews by MobileTechReview

The Pantech Burst is a surprisingly good Android smartphone for only $50 with an ATT contract. The phone has 4G LTE and HSPA+, a 4" Super AMOLED display and a fast dual core CPU. For that price don't expect a wildly thin or stylish phone, but the Burst...

Very affordable LTE 4G Android smartphone that's fast all around. Sharp display

No word when it will get Ice Cream Sandwich (Android OS 4.0)

AT&T continues to be aggressive with their LTE 4G phone pricing, likely to combat Verizon Wireless' lineup of lovely high end Android smartphones and currently larger LTE footprint. The Pantech Burst is a great phone for the price, and you're not...
