Samsung Dart SGH-T499 (T-Mobile)

Samsung's Dart misses its target, as there are several other Android smartphones in T-Mobile's lineup that are better choices.

Lightweight. Good music playback.

Poor voice quality. Sluggish. Buggy. Dim, ugly, low-res screen.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions Perhaps the Dart's best use is as a music player. The standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack and easy-access, side-mounted microSD card slot are welcome. Samsung tosses in a 2GB microSD card to get you started, and...

Samsung Dart T499 (T-Mobile) review

Budget Android handsets are a great idea if you want to get started with Android but don't want to spend the big bucks on something like the HTC Sensation 4G or the T-Mobile G2X. T-Mobile 's budget Android offerings currently consist of the LG Optimus...

The Samsung Dart has a slim and compact design. It ships with Android 2.2, and the TouchWiz UI is easy to use. Features include GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile hot-spot capabilities, and the ability to make calls over Wi-Fi. It's also very affordable.

The Samsung Dart's screen is on the small side, with a rather poor resolution.

The Samsung Dart is a decent entry-level phone for T-Mobile, but there are better options out there.

Samsung Dart T499 – Entry-Level Android Phone

Definitely seemed like a good phone at first, but then...

I've had this phone for about two years, and i loved it for the longest time. Now I can't receive group messages (they just say downloading all the time). I have the same problem another reviewer had with sending texts and needing to power the phone on...

small size, easy to use

Horrid internal storage space, error messages when sending texts

Consumer review (cnet.com)

This is the worst phone I have ever owned.

Texting feature is awful - more than 50% of the time, I get a return text that says "failed" - I have to turn my phone off and on and try again, sometimes more than once for a single text to (FINALLY) go through. The service and storage are a joke - a...

You can (sometimes) make a phone call or send a text (if you're lucky and the phone gods happen to like you).

Please refer to my rant below.

Don't waste your money.

If you're looking for a reliable starter phone, then this is the one to get. Otherwise, this phone is terrible. I honestly think that this phone is way too expensive for what you're getting out of it. I've been using it as a serious smart phone for...

Good design, easy to use, does basic phone functions.

Overpriced, limited selection of apps, HORRIBLE internal storage space, slow, poor signal quality.

"A reliable smartphone for its price"

For the price and the quality, it is a decent smartphone to have. Has googleplay so you can buy apps...although I feel the phone memory is not enough for a heavy app user like me. Recently, it has been giving me trouble with being able to receive but...

Not hard to use and reliable. Size is ok, not too big, not too small. Has all the features of your typical smart phone.

1. I do not know, as I can't find a way, to use the front camera. So I am assuming it does not have one?

This is a great phone for the money

this is a nice phone for a tween who wants a smart phone and for parents who want it cheap - it costs me %5 more a month and she connects via wifi.

Easy to use and perfect for my tweenager.
