Nice ergonomics, thin bezels and a small notch (and a USB-C type of port).

No 4K video recording and no image stabilization.

It boils down to what kind of icing you want on top of Android or if you like any at all. Also, we wouldn't worry about the lens issue we had on our review unit - we're pretty sure it must be only our unit that's faulty.

The awkward middle child

Sizable screen ; Headphone jack

Cheaper feel in the hand ; Cameras are so-so

Stuck in the middle with a whole lot of Galaxy A series handsets, the A40 may get lost in crowd. It's a solid, if simple smartphone which doesn't have anything to really shout about.

The Samsung Galaxy A40 shows that you don't have to spend a fortune to get a good Samsung phone. It's good value and has all the basics covered as well as a big screen and a modern design.

The Samsung Galaxy A40 is one of a growing number of budget phones that give you a lot for your money, but it’s notable because it comes from Samsung, a company that’s more known for expensive handsets.

Just love Samsung!

 

I bought this a couple of weeks ago direct from Samsung in Norwich. Heard great reviews and it hasn't failed to please. The A70 was too big for me this one was recommended and is perfect I love the features.

Fabulous phone and Screen

 

Screen simply wonderful. Clarity and colour. I have a Galacy Tab A, this simply a pocket size version. Transferring data a breeze. Simply the best!
