Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G review: Not as good as one, but better than the other

If the Galaxy S21 Ultra is the best Android phone you can buy and the Galaxy S21 is a slight disappointment, where does that leave the Galaxy S21+? We find out.

Classy metal-and-glass body ; Stunning screen performance ; Capable camera

Lacks a 2021 flagship camera ; S21 Ultra is substantially better in many ways

Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G review

Almost as big as the Ultra, but not quite as camera-centric. Nearly identical to the vanilla, but with a plus-size screen, extra battery and a more...

Nice color options, standout design, IP68 rating.

Scant retail package - no charger or headphones.

So you've probably figured out where this is leading us. The Galaxy S21+ is a great all-round package and has the smartphone pillars well propped up. Ultimately, however, it lacks a standout selling point. In our opinion, if you want a Galaxy, there...

Samsung Galaxy S21+ review

Samsung's Galaxy S21+ strikes the perfect balance between size, features, and price. But just how good is it?

Excellent performance; Great battery life; Versatile camera modes and features ; Great image quality; Smooth and vivid display

No charger in the box; Slippery design; A bit too heavy; Gets hot under heavier load

Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus review: A big-screen phone that gets the big things right

Like the Galaxy S21, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus gets a lot of things right. It's a big-screen phone with a beautiful display and capable cameras.

Gorgeous 120Hz AMOLED display ; Excellent performance ; Crazy zoom feature ; Beautiful design

Bulky and unwieldy ; No microSD slot or included charger ; Inconsistent camera

The Galaxy S21 Plus is not a bad purchase at $999. It’s got a lot going for it. If you’re coming from an older device, like the Galaxy S10 series, this is a solid upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus review

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus is probably the sweet-spot when it comes to this year's Galaxy range, but it's far from perfect.

Beautiful 120Hz, 6.7-inch display ; Stylish and tough design ; Market-leading camera system

Minor upgrade over S20 Plus ; No charger, no headphone jack, no microSD card slot

We still love that edgeless Galaxy screen, and the S21 Plus has made small improvements over the S20 Plus, making it the best in this particular line. But it fails to innovate enough to justify an upgrade from the previous model.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus Review

For the past couple of years, Samsung has been releasing three models in each of their main Galaxy S phones and the S21 series is no different. While the top of the line Ultra model gets all the attention, this year's S21 Plus is something to consider....

Beautiful 120Hz display ; Great battery life that easily lasts a day ; The matte finish makes it easier to hold ; Solid performance with no slowdowns ; Great camera with good video and low-light performance

No MicroSD card slot and storage maxes out at 256GB ; No wall adapter included in the box ; The in-display fingerprint sensor doesn’t work all the time

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus is a great device that is a good middle ground between the cheaper S21 and more expensive S21 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S21/+ Review: Making the right compromises [Updated]

Samsung's new Galaxy S21 brings some needed improvements while admitting some of its biggest mistakes from last year's phones.

The difference between the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series is clear. Samsung’s 2020 flagships did not sell well at all, and it clearly influenced where the company went this time around. The most direct response was ditching the $1,000 starting price...

Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus review

The middle model in the Galaxy S21 family, is the Samsung S21 Plus smartphone the sensible compromise?

Good looking, slender smartphone ; Big, bright, smooth screen ; Flagship power and smooth UI

2020 camera hardware ; No optical zoom ; No expandable storage

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus is a great all-around smartphone, but at around $1000 / £949, it isn’t much cheaper than the S21 Ultra and loses out on almost all its bells and whistles. In day-to-day use, it’s performance is on-point, so if you find it at...
