Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge review

The curved screen on the Galaxy S6 Edge looks beautiful but harms the experience. We highly recommend a standard Galaxy S6.

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are both absolutely gorgeous phones. They borrow a lot of design traits from the iPhone line, and that’s fantastic, because the iPhone is the most beautiful phone out there. But of the two, we do recommend the Galaxy S6 Edge.

The Galaxy S6 Edge delivers crave-worthy curves for a premium price

The Galaxy S6's edgier sibling adds a stunning wraparound screen. If you have the cash, it's worth the steeper cost.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge's wraparound screen transforms an already great phone into Samsung's best-looking handset. Ever.

That supercool design comes with a big price tag, and the screen doesn't deliver any real killer apps. Like the regular S6, the Edge doesn't support swappable batteries or expandable storage.

Samsung's striking, high-end Galaxy S6 Edge has the beauty, brains and brawn to take down the iPhone 6 and all the Android competition.

DxOMark Mobile report: Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are Samsung's latest flagship smartphones and were launched at the Mobile World Congress in March. Apart from the curved screen edges of the S6 Edge they come with identical specifications and use the same camera...

Galaxy S6 Edge review: Samsung's vanity phone

This is one of Samsung's most beautiful products, but it may not be worth the extra Benjamin it costs to bring home.

Fantastic 16-megapixel camera that works well in all lighting situations ; Battery efficient, despite its Quad HD display

A bit of light leak in the display around the curved edges

The Galaxy S6 Edge is all beauty and brains, but you should only spend the extra cash if you absolutely want the novelty of a curved edge.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge ( 32GB, black sapphire)

Its two rounded sides create a bold, innovative design that isn't just the first commercial dual-curved display, it's also probably the best screen on a phone today. And although the S6 and S6 Edge share every major spec and nearly every color, it's...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge review

When the Galaxy S6 and 6S Edge debuted in the Spring of 2015, they represented a dramatic departure for Samsung. Gone was the utilitarian plastic build of every Galaxy S past; in its place, glass and aluminum alloy, and, in the case of the S6 Edge, a...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge review

Those power-hungry apps also took a toll on battery life. In our web browsing battery test (which loops a web page once a minute), the Galaxy S6 held up well, achieving over nine hours of uptime. But in actual usage — especially when streaming YouTube...

Beautiful design ; Excellent camera ; Incredible screen

Average battery life ; Software still needs work ; Curved screen mostly a gimmick

The Galaxy S6 Edge is Samsung at its boldest. The Galaxy S6 is Samsung at its best

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (T-Mobile)

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a gorgeous, powerful smartphone, but you're paying a pretty steep premium for curved glass.

Standout design. Premium materials. Excellent performance.

Expensive. Edge doesn't bring useful functions.

Comparisons and Conclusions The advantage of the S6 Edge over the standard S6 isn't about any functionality. It's just that it's pretty. You wouldn't be the first person to spend $100 extra for something pretty.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Review

As recently as the Galaxy S5, Samsung had a fundamentally different strategy from companies like HTC and Apple. While design wasn't ignored completely, Samsung Mobile had a different set of priorities. In general, it felt like Samsung wanted the phone...

Taking everything together, the Galaxy S6 is the phone to beat right now. I’m not sure I’m the biggest fan of the glass back, but the display, camera, SoC, fingerprint sensor, battery life, and design are all strong points in favor of the Galaxy S6. In...
