Samsung Infuse 4G review: Extra legroom

In America, it is widely believed that bigger is better. Or so Samsung must have thought when they decided to launch the phone with the biggest and brightest screen first in the United States, and with the biggest network – AT&T. The Samsung Infuse 4G...

Quad-band GSM and quad-band 3G support ; 21 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA support ; 4.5" 16M-color Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen of WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution ; 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 512 MB of RAM ; 8 MP wide-angle lens...

All-plastic build ; No dedicated camera key ; Super slim body has poor grip when taking pictures ; Single-core processor ; No 1080p video recording despite having the same camera unit as the Galaxy S2 ; Sheer size raises questions about single-handed...

Infuse 4G

We're just getting into the swing of spring, flowers blooming and skeeters biting, but already it's been a great year for Samsung -- if we ignore the whole lawsuit thing. Just a few weeks ago the company delivered to us our highest scoring Android...

Thin profile ; Excellent battery life ; Beautiful screen

Inconsistent data performance ; That screen might be a little too big ; External HDMI adapter

Review: Samsung Infuse 4G

Is a giant, 4.5-inch screen enough to differentiate the Infuse 4G from Android's numerous oversize offerings? For the most part, yes.

Form+Function+Fun. Oversized touchscreen is great for flicks. Fantastic battery life regardless of use patterns. Preternaturally light at 4.5 ounces. Ships with a voucher for movie rentals. Great photos (8MP) decent video (720p)

Speaker is fine for calls, anemic for movies. Plastic chassis and volume rocker are pure chintz. Getting video onto a TV is dongle-reliant. All this downloadable video sweetness ships with a tiny 2GB card

Samsung Infuse 4G SGH-I997 (AT&T)

The powerful Samsung Infuse 4G boasts the largest screen found on any Android smartphone, but AT&T's next-generation data network still lags.

Very thin. Huge, vibrant Super AMOLED Plus screen. Stellar battery life. First truly 4G AT&T phone.

AT&T doesn't yet have a network to back up the phone's speeds. Not the best voice phone. Tall and wide dimensions make it tough to hold.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions This is a stellar multimedia machine. The standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack is always a plus, and Samsung includes a full-sounding wired set of stereo earbuds in the box. Music tracks also sounded clear and detailed...

Samsung Infuse 4G (AT&T) review

First introduced at CES 2011 , the Samsung Infuse 4G finally reaches AT&T's network on May 15 for $199.99 with a two-year contract. The Infuse 4G is the carrier's latest Android device, and it sure is getting a lot of fanfare. Not only is it being...

The Samsung Infuse 4G features a large and vibrant 4.5-inch touch screen that's great for browsing and videos. The Android smartphone is ultrathin and has an 8-megapixel camera and snappy performance.

The lower-resolution screen makes text look a bit pixelated. AT&T's 4G data speeds are slow.

The Samsung Infuse 4G disappoints in some areas, but it's still a very good Android smartphone for AT&T customers as long as you're OK with the larger design.

Samsung Infuse 4G

The Samsung Infuse 4G ($200 on AT&T after a new 2-year contract) is a great-looking phone with exceptional media capabilities. Unfortunately, while it may shine at playing movies and music, images and text come out looking like a mess.

Exceptional multimedia capabilities ; Nice, big screen for easy typing

Photos sometimes have a red tint ; Text and images are jagged

The Samsung Infuse 4G is a great phone for the media-hungry consumer, but a few issues keep it from being great.

Samsung Infuse 4G Review

The Infuse 4G is a great fit for someone who wants an ultra-thin camera phone with a vivid, sharp display. Sharing photos is easy with the included apps, and the camera is generally quick to perform, but a weak flash, less-than-stellar image quality...

Large 4.5-inch screen is sharp and colorful ; Touch screen makes menu navigation easy ; Ultra-thin body measures just 0.35 inch ; Built-in photo-sharing widgets

Small flash is sometimes inadequate ; Image quality is not the greatest ; Performance of shooting modes is mixed ; Placement of lens and flash makes them easy to block with fingers

The Infuse 4G is a great fit for someone who wants an ultra-thin camera phone with a vivid, sharp display. Sharing photos is easy with the included apps, and the camera is generally quick to perform, but a weak flash, less-than-stellar image quality...

Samsung Infuse 4G Review

Seemingly coming out of nowhere, especially considering that it's not tied to the Samsung Galaxy S family, the Samsung Infuse 4G is gunning for the top dog position on AT&T's Android lineup that's currently occupied by the Motorola ATRIX 4G. Although...

Samsung Infuse 4G Review: Smartphone or Mini-Tablet?

It's currently available on AT&T with a retail price of $200 with new contract. The device is $550 without that contract

Large, beautiful Super AMOLED Plus screen ; Excellent battery life ; Ample memory and expansion capability

Large design not for everyone ; HDMI implementation can be troublesome

If you're comfortable with a large smartphone, the Infuse 4G has specs, power, and options which definitely make it one of the better ones on the market
