Fairphone 5 review

Two years after the previous generation, Fairphone introduced the Fairphone 5 with numerous upgrades to the hardware and tweaks to the design to fit the...

Solid build and comfortable design.

Display could be better.

But for anyone in the market for a new smartphone in the given price range, the Fairphone 5 may not be the best choice. It's cool to have a removable back cover and swap out your battery on the fly, yet having a nice set of cameras, bright and...

Sonim XP3.20 Quest

Super-duper tough. Three-year, no-questions-asked replacement warranty

Internet speeds are very slow. Prototype may not have been up to final specs

If its price is palatable, the Sonim XP3 ruggedized cell phone should be an excellent choice for rough-and-tumble lifestyles when it comes out this summer.

Sonim XP3 Review: Boiled Alive

You might not know it, but you've heard about the XP3: It's that phone that's always getting drenched, elephant-smooshed or shot, and surviving. Well, I finally got one, and the timing couldn't be better. XP3, I'm going to eat you.

And the battery life is conversely related to the phone's feature set, just like it should be. (I've been playing with this thing on and off for more than a week, and I still don't need to charge it.) Also, of course, it's tough, like all my favorite...

If you're a regular Paul Bunyan, you need a cell phone that's as tough as you are - like the XP3 Enduro.

Sonim XP3 proven to be a very tough phone

At the end of last month we reported that Sonim had released their latest phone called the XP3. Basically it does away with many of the nice new features you expect on the latest phones, but replaces them with rugged features such as being waterproof,...

Sonim XP3 Enduro mobile phone

The Sonin XP3 Enduro is a ruggedised and waterproof phone that is hard to break and easy to use

Very tough, waterproof to one metre for up to 30min, good interface

Calls sound slightly muffled and fuzzy, software needs to be downloaded, only waterproof to one metre

The Sonim XP3 Enduro ruggedised GSM mobile phone is tough, waterproof and very good value. If you have an active lifestyle or work in a tough environment where accidents are common, this is a phone that's well worth a look.

Sonim XP3 Enduro

The XP3 Enduro may not look pretty and it has the features of a prepaid mobile, but it's probably the only phone you'll find that can be driven over by a car and still work.

Virtually unbreakable. Great battery life. USB charging.

No HSDPA, Wi-Fi or GPS. No camera. Virtually no internal storage.

It seems overkill to protect a phone with these features so thoroughly, while we let our iPhones smash on tiled floors. The XP3 is too pricey for a phone that only makes calls and send messages.

Sonim XP3 Enduro review

It's the world's only waterproof phone, but is this ultra-ruggerdized Sonim as ‘nails' as it claims?

Now waterproof as well as tough, the XP3 is short on features but virtually unbreakable
