T-Mobile G2x review

It's only been a few weeks since the Optimus 2X crossed the desk of our European review bureau as the first known dual-core smartphone in the universe.

Solid and elegant hardware ; Snappy dual-core performance ; Stock Android FTW

Display could be higher quality ; Touchscreen could be more sensitive ; Froyo instead of Gingerbread

Review: LG G2x

LG's G2x is running on Nvidia's Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor. Are two cores better than one? We sure think so.

HDMI-out and DLNA compatibility make for cozy communication with peripherals and HDTVs. Expandable micro SD to 32 GB leaves room for tons of tunes

Non-skinned interface without the latest version of Android (Froyo, not Gingerbread) makes us sad. Screen forebodingly froze up on us twice during testing, requiring reboot

T-Mobile G2x With Google

The T-Mobile G2x with Google is the fastest, smoothest Android smartphone available today.

Good looking. Fast. Clean interface. Excellent media features including 1080p HDMI mirroring.

Not technically 4G. Screen resolution could be higher. Some 1080p video-recording hiccups in our tests.

Media and Conclusions Media playback is a big deal here, and the G2x is one of the best media phones ever. The phone's killer feature, thanks to the Tegra 2 chipset, is HDMI mirroring. Everything you see on the phone's screen, including copy-protected...

T-Mobile G2x review

When LG introduced the world to the LG Optimus 2X late last year we were suitably impressed by its dual-core processor and multimedia capabilities, but because LG has a history of not importing its high-end devices into the U.S., we held out little...

The T-Mobile G2x features a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor that delivers great performance. It also has a sharp design, plenty of multimedia features, and HSPA+ speeds.

The T-Mobile G2x's photo quality did not meet our expectations. The call quality could also be slightly better.

The T-Mobile G2x's simple Android interface, blazingly fast speeds, and polished look make it the phone to beat in T-Mobile's lineup.

T-Mobile G2x (with Google)

Excellent 8-megapixel camera ; Thin, simple design ; Super fast thanks to dual core Tegra 2 chip

Call quality was uneven ; Android 2.3 update not coming until summer

The T-Mobile G2X is a no-frills powerhouse that excels at gaming, multitasking and video.

T-Mobile G2x with Google

There's one potential problem, though. While the G2x had roughly the same RF reception as the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, it occasionally dropped very sharply from 4G to 2G in my tests, something other reviewers have also noted. It's yet to be seen if this is...

T-Mobile G2x Review: Gingerbread-Infused

I've been a loyal T-Mobile user for the last five years, so the logjam of sorts at the top of The Big Magenta's smartphone linuep is particularly interesting to me. On one side, there's the excellent Sensation 4G that Brian reviewed recently. On the...

T-Mobile G2x Review

T-Mobile and LG haven't just been working on a tablet: there's also a dual-core smartphone on offer as well. The T-Mobile G2x doesn't bother with the docking accessories of AT&T's ATRIX 4G ( review ), instead expecting its own dual-core potential to...

It’s not hard to see that the T-Mobile G2x is the best Android device in the carrier’s current line-up. No, it may not run Gingerbread (yet), but its unmodified OS means future updates shouldn’t be delayed by unnecessary manufacturer or carrier...

T-Mobile G2x Review

Still thriving as the world's number three handset maker, there is no arguing that LG has a big opportunity in capturing the lucrative smartphone market, but they don't necessarily have that high-end flagship device to contend with the competition....

Speedy T-Mobile G2x catches the flagship title

Winning several reviewer awards and the Best of CTIA Award for 2011, the T-Mobile G2x is the shining star of the T-Mobile lineup. Its sturdy design is "big without feeling big, and weighty without feeling heavy," says Jerry Hildenbrand of...

Speedy dual-core processor, android operating system, vibrant, responsive screen, excellent multimedia features, high-resolution video recording

Not the highest-quality screen available, doesn't have fastest version of 4G
