Shuts itself off

carafe is nice

I have owned this model less than a year and now is turns itself off after 20 seconds so it does not have time to heat up and make coffee. Perhaps a bad sensor.

Thermal Carafe Unreliable

First carafe lasted more than a year but then lost its thermal properties. Despite negative reviews, I bought a replacement which stopped keeping coffee hot after just a couple of months. Correspondence with Cuisinart for warranty service resulted in a...

Was good while it worked. Makes good coffee and keeps it hot. Until the vacuum seal breaks and then it doesn't keep the coffee hot.

Thermal carafes do not last. I've owned 2.

love this coffee maker

Fearing that Cuisinart would cease manufacturing this model, and knowing that our coffee maker won't last forever, we have purchased two more so we don't have to try and find a replacement that works as well.

Makes great coffee and keeps it hot for hours without burning electricity or the coffee. My first one has lasted 7+ years so far brewing 1 - 2 pots per day. The beeper to announce that the coffee is done brewing has been sounding sad lately so maybe it...

The design has tight tolerances---if you do not seat the coffee basket just right it will puke coffee all over your counter. Not sure this is really a con, but it is the only "problem" we've had and it took us a bit to realize why we were having...

Design flaw ruins otherwise excellent product.

I assume that other Cuisinart coffee makers probably share this design weakness.

Brews excellent hot coffee when operating properly Outstanding insulated carafe keeps coffee hot and fresh for hours

Design flaw limits life span of the coffee maker. After a couple of years of daily use, I began to notice small amounts of water on the counter around the coffee maker that slowly grew larger and larger over time. I finally realized that the coffee...

Overflows consistently

Keeps coffee hot for hours.

LCD screen icons difficult to see. Routinely pukes coffee all over my countertop and cabinets. I read all the bad reviews concerning this problem, and figured that this new, updated model had rectified this issue. The few that complained were likely...

Works great. Very Durable. Great for Navy Peeps like me

like many other coffee makers, make sure the pieces are in correctly or you might have a mess on your hands. The cap to the Karaf will screw in cockeyed if you're not careful. ALso, if you use the wrong filter, be very careful. Mostly this is once...

Dureable, stays warms, doesn't require a burner to run and ruin your coffee. Good price (I got it from Newegg for $100) .

Nothing to mention, some plastic slightly damaged during shipping, not the products fault. I'm currently deployed on a carrier, so this is not uncommon. This does not reflect on the product, or Newegg.

A wonderful coffee brew

That said, it is well worth the effort. Don't know why anyone can complain about Newegg or Cuisinart. They are both great to do business with, especially on returns.

It makes a terrific cup and the carafe keeps the coffee hot for a good amount of time. It brews rapidly, and I love the signal when the coffee is ready.

It requires a bit of attention when preparing for brewing. The cup containing the coffee must be inserted properly. Ditto for the thermal carafe. Every time there was a problem with overflow, it turned out to be our fault. It is not a negative comment...

Best I have owned

Makes great coffee. I have owned a white one for over three years without one problem. Unlike other reviewers who comment about the long brew cycle, mine brews 10 cups in about ten minutes. The pre-program feature works well and the thermal carafe...

watch out warranty

had one before and liked it but no more cuisinart products

carafe leaks and Cuisinart wants me to pay to send it back or send it back to egg head. either way $20 to ship it back so no more cuisinart products in my home. Brand new and they want me to be out another 20 dollars. should have just bought one locally!

Cuisinart DTC-975BKN Black 12-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffeemaker

Did not buy at Newegg.

Makes a great cup of coffee. Coffee stays warm in the carafe for at least 4 hours. Each cup is as fresh as the first, even hours later.

Not really a con, but brew cycle takes about 14 minutes. A long time when you are waiting on your first cup of the day.
