A testy but lovable classic in its own time and could be straight out of a Buck Rogers comic!

I adore our Nivola but…After eight long years of ownership it has been a love not-quite-hate relationship. Even nine odd years after it first hit the market the Elektra Nivola is, without doubt still one of the most striking looking home espresso...

Striking looking machine from any angle and easy to use. Beautifully made aluminium body with tactile controls and a really nice bakelite filter handle. Remarkable recovery time for an espresso machine with such a tiny boiler

Expensive to service and can have a fractious personality. Classy body is let down by cheap trim and tack-on bits. Average microfoaming ability. Questionable durability of some critical components

Gorgeous machine that makes perfect espresso cup after cup.

I love espresso (and sometimes macchiato). I also love gadgets and was prepared to spend a lot more than I did on this machine to buy whatever seemed best. I looked long and hard at some of the lever machines.

Makes great espresso and does a good job of frothing milk. It is the only two things it does which for what I wanted is great ; I've had the machine for 5 years and made 2 to 4 cups of coffee everyday and still going strong

I wish it had a water level indicator, instead it just starts beeping half way through making a coffee, telling you it has run out. Stopping an espresso half way through, refilling and then finishing does not make a good espresso. It is also a little...

Physically beautiful, somewhat coltish, but great performance.

I saw this machine when I was in Amsterdam. I really wanted it and yet it seemed too "design heavy;" almost austentatious. I have a small apartment so I thought it would really stand out. Finally I succumbed to desire and ordered one direct from Italy....

Beautiful machine and makes great espresso

Some quirkiness and problem with water level mechanism

Good machine for espresso lovers

I buy this machine to change my dead Achille Gaggia (eletrical problem and water leaking), and after 1 week training i obtain better shoot than the shoots with the Achille (which was good) on 2 years.

super look, easy to use, excellent quality of coffee deliver (with weiss distrubution for dosing) and with the one cup filter good results (i never have this quality with a one cup filter before). Quite good mlik froothing

Cannot adjust the power of steam, stop after 40s of extraction

A good machine if you're looking for ease-of-use and willing to spend extra for appearance

Disclaimer: Previous to this purchase I have only used low-end Krups machines, no tamper, cheap blade grinder.

Most obvious feature is the appearance. It is quite stunning. It is simple to use, refill, clean and maintain. Even a bad shot tastes better than what your average coffee shop makes on a good day. Produces good foam with minimal skill or effort

Although very functional, the plastic frother is cheesy. For the price, a hot water dispenser would be nice to have. The drip tray cover has quickly become scratched up from normal use. I suppose the term "vibration pump" states the obvious, but it...
