TwinMOS Boom China

 

It's an iPod dock with a Chinese vase for a subwoofer - don't ask.

On the rear of the head unit, as well as the output for the sub is a composite TV output for displaying iPod video on a TV. And owners of other MP3 players who like the idea of having a sub shaped like a vase need not feel left out either. Admittedly...

TwinMOS Boom China Review

 

Have a unique speaker system with this vase shaped iPod dock. It may be odd, but this designer speaker system isn't without its charms.

Unique visual 'appeal', USB iPod Shuffle compatible, subwoofer gives useful bass boost, great packaging, the only iPod speaker system with a poem printed on it

Unique visual 'appeal' - you'll either love it or hate it, insensitive remote buttons, not a great sound, you're paying for the big pot, expensive, dock adaptors not included

We enjoyed having the Boom China around, but maybe it's something that should be admired from afar. The next version should include wireless connectivity and better sound. The Boom China is fun, but at this price, and in such a competitive market, we...

Such is the wealth of iPod-oriented portable speakers and 2.1 sets around at the moment, it's not really surprising to see the odd manufacturer attempting to carve a bit of a niche with a novelty product ...

As is often typical with these sorts of 'novelty' twists on fairly basic ideas, performance does seem to suffer a bit at the expense of the aesthetics, so those who put audio quality above all else may prefer to opt for something a little more...
