Uniden DSS 7960 + 1

2 lines, distinctive ring tones.

Crackling in the speaker. Have tried on 4 different lines and the same problem, so I'd say this phone is faulty. Also very quiet Mic. I have complaints at the other end of not being able to hear unless I shout.

Everything is good about this phone.

The only think I could dislike is the large plug.

Works well for 2 phone lines, incl. transferring and holding calls. Good range on handsets, and can be used to call each other direct (even without base). Can have 10 handsets (we use 6 very successfully)

Would have liked answering machine included in base.

Ability to use one line for business, the other for private calls and use distinct call tones for each Large phonebook accessed by letters Small, easily carried handsets. Good quality -- replaced older, very reliable Uniden system One key access to...

Would have preferred in-built answering machines but only 2-line machine I could find that offered these (Panasonic) did not have several other features I wanted.
