I am a frequent upgrader. Moved from an Asus Z97 board with two Samsung sata drives in raid to this board with with two Samsung 950 Pro M.2 in raid. The performance is blistering. Benchmarks report 3x performance improvements over two SSD on SATA raid....

Best Motherboard I owned so far

I'm building my own desktop computers for the last 25 years using always ASUS boards and this board is the very top of the notch! Works flawlessly, exceeded my expectations.

worked for 2 weeks

I will never buy another ASUS motherboard. After replacing it with an MSI Z170 Gaming M7, Microsoft will not let me reactivate windows and tells me I have to either buy a new windows 10 license or reinstall and update from my licensed copy of Windows...

day 15: no longer recognizes card plugged in to pci express port... I go out and buy an hdmi -> dvi adapter to try and troubleshoot if onboard video is working... onboard video does work until the next time I reboot. Reseat video card, remove video...

I really like this board and bought it for a highend build for VR. Its really great that it has onboard wifi and bluetooth, but unfortunately the memory issues that so many people have are a non-starter. Literally.

I love ASUS

This board is really fast and overclocking is out the box. Very solid board and nice design very well laid out.

When buying this board remember that it is windows 10 upgrade ready. Witch means that you have to go from win 7 or 8 and do a windows 10 upgrade. If you do a windows 10 (OEM) install the drivers that come on the ASUS driver disk will not work. Nor will...
