Dell OptiPlex 960

If you're shopping at the premium end of the business desktop market, you'll be hard-pressed to do better than the Dell OptiPlex 960.

Small and compact, Powerful performance, Light on pre-installed software, Lots of ports for its size, Quiet, Three-year on-site warranty

HDD could be bigger, Cramped internals will make adding components difficult, No DVI port, Not cheap

GCN LAB REVIEW: Dell Optiplex 960

The Dell Optiplex 960 high-performance PC would be good for any use, provided that upgrades are a long way down the road.

Good performance, excellent security and green features

Dell Optiplex 960

A small yet potent business desktop with plenty of useful features.

Small size, quad-core CPU, e-SATA, DisplayPort, 3-year on-site warranty, 19in widescreen monitor

Price, uncomfortable keyboard and mouse, no DVI port, no media card reader

There's no doubt the Dell Optiplex 960 is quick, and that its small size and quiet operation make it an ideal unit for a cubicle environment, but it does cost a lot of money.

Solid Workstation

I've had no problems with noise. If anything I can barely hear the machine. Bought the mini-tower with the high efficiency power supply.

Excellent workstation, plenty of RAM capacity, can mirror drives with RAID, and overall many features

Watch out for the display port depending on the video card you get. Looks very close to HDMI, but it's not. Confusing for the novice

Optiplex 960

Bit on the noisey side with loud fans

Very powerful, supports 8GB ram

Build quality seems lacking from masking tape inside to sharp corners on the case. The new base mouse weighs in at a very light 4 oz's to light for an accurate mouse

Great System except one component.

I'll mention the worst part about this system first, so you don't have to read any further. The power supply is the noisiest I've come across!! Do not purchase this system without being ready to purchase an after market power supply. I started it up...

Solid and reliable business class product. Lots of options during build. New BIOS is great, especially with mousing capability. Warranty. Guaranteed product life cycle. Support

VERY noisy power supply

great product for the business professional ”

This is the computer I use at work. It has the memory I need to handle everything I want - countless files, microsoft software, and of course the browsing capability I need (though much of that is due, of course, to my internet provider).
