Great Esxi server

I bought 32gb of ram (8x4) but because of the way it handles memory it can only handle 24. I added a drive cage and connected 5 hard drives. I use it to run VMs under Esxi 6 and have not had any issues.

* window licence included * can run 8 VM without any noticeable performance issues once memory is upgraded

* memory configurations are strange

It is as advertised.

I added a 2 port sata3 board and a 480MB Intel SSD for booting. Added a 2 port USB 3.1 board and installed DVD burner right below the DVD reader. Throw in a Kepler video card. All works very well. If you are going to install new boot device change the...

It is clean and works very well. It is a rock solid box. I believe the single sata2 drive installed is new. It is a great value with support information on the Dell web site. Dell is not supporting W10 on this box. W7 PRO is supported by MS for several...

During W7 install from the recovery partition I received some errors. Windows continued to complain it was not whole. Used the built in diagnostics to test the hardware for several days and concluded it was a software issue. Contacted the vender about...

Folding at Home PC

I added an Nvidia GTX 950 card for $150, and this PC turned into a 130,000 ppd folding machine. So for $450 total, this became precisely what I wanted. Good folding performance for not a lot of money. Hopefully I can get a few years of service out of it.

Win7, not later WinCrap

Weak Graphics card - but it did work fine. Usual crapware to be cleaned out.

Fantastic Machine!

My only "problem" is that at the price I paid I should have bought 2! Thanks Newegg for offering such a great product.

This is a fantastic piece of equipment, definitely commercial quality. Very heavy duty components. I am using it as a home server/NAS, by adding 2 4tb hd's in raid1 and a 3rd as a backup. I've put the os on a 120mb SSD, and the system runs flawlessly.

Absolutely None

Display Issues Galore

It turns on, but can't say more until I can get it to work with the monitor.

As others have noted if your look for a simple plug and play move on. As I have been trying to get a serial port monitor to work on this with no luck. I bought the dvi to vga adapter, but as Hugh noted you need to have the video card go directly to the...

A great PC

This is very particular when it comes to displays. I tried to go from display port to DVI adapter to VGA adapter, but that didn't work. The video card must connect to the monitor via DVI cable. That would have been nice to know. Pay a little more for...

A complete workstation with a quad-core Xeon CPU. Included a legal Windows 7 COA, keyboard, mouse, even includes two DisplayPort-DVI "DONGLE, DP2DVI" adapters. Includes the DELL standard Nvidia Quadro dual display port video adapter. This is a good...

DELL specifies ECC RAM which is pricey. Pay a little more for one of these with 8GB of RAM ; Newegg has 16GB (4x4gb) for $143.00

Meh

Fortunately I bought this machine as a learning experiment - turned out to be a bit more of a learning experience than expected, so I appreciate that. If you're looking for something to plug in and use with ease, keep looking!

Cheap, worked - for the most part, about what I expected for $175

You get what you pay for - network port didn't work; listed as having a DVI port - was delivered with a video card with DisplayPort and an adapter to DVI. Using a TV as a monitor, going from DisplayPort to DVI to HDMI I could not get anything. Had to...
