Great Deal + XP!

Came with XP installed plus Vista if I feel the urge to go to that for some reason. No fuss, no unnecessary software, and no problems whatsoever thus far. I love how quiet it is. Great price

There are only 2 RAM slots. The front panel ports are a little too recessed and there are only 4 USB's there. The audio jacks are hard to access in the dark and I haven't gotten the front mic jack to work with my music software

Includes XP downgrade!!

As far as on board video goes the 4500 is pretty good (I've read) and it looks good so far. There is an SPDIF socket on the mobo, the back panel includes PS/2 keyboard and mouse support (but packed with USB devices) if you need more than two rear USBs,...

It comes installed with XP --even though Newegg didn't mention it in the description ; Very nice drive configuration..easy access to HD's ; Includes XP and Vista re-install software CDs ; Clean audio, an added plus for a business machine (i.e. no HD...

The front case USB header cable came unplugged from the factory (happily--the BIOS notified me of this problem on boot up) and I should just be able to plug it back in ; There's no IDE socket (for my older drive) ; Both ram slots filled

not bad if you dont want to upgrade

Anyhow, Ive dragged out an older antec 350 psu, once i track down some sata power adapters Im going to try to install it though DELL use t put proprietary power plugs on their MBs ruling out the aftermarket psu solution, lets hope it doesnt...

if your ok with whats listed then this is a pretty good value so far. Quiet, runs cool and performance exactly what you would expect from the hardware

bottom line, not expansion friendly. I wanted to stick an EIDE hard drive from a previous computer and theres no EIDE heder, anywhere, and the only addtional power cable is SATA ; Did I mention the ONLY additional cable from the powersupply is a SATA...

Dell Vostro 220

Internet Explorer 8 did not agree with other windows updates and programs installed. Manual installation of the Operating System and Driver requires some technical knowledge as there is no "Recovery Partition" or "Recovery Image". Make one immediately!

Loads with Windows XP, very little bloatware, fast machine. Option for 32 bit Windows Vista. Upgraded memory to 4 Gigs. This is a great desktop

No restore partition. Dell does not list NewEgg as a reseller on their site and you cannot correct your purchase date to extend your warranty to match your purchase date. I was told by Dell to call NewEgg

Good Entry level system

To the guy that gave 1 egg. Maybe you should look at the specs before you order and if you really needed more then 4 gigs of RAM for a system you probably should be spending a bit more on a system anyways.

Good Entry level system and lowest price for a Core2duo processor. Very little bloatware compared to other systems in this price range

none

DELL Vostro 220 (464-2572) Core 2 Duo E7300(2.66GHz) 2GB DDR2 160GB Intel GMA X4500HD Windows Vista Business / XP Professional downgrade

Unless you plan on installing a 64-bit, OS, 2 GB of system memory is just fine. Another reviewer was complaining about this. If you want to spend the $ for a 64-bit OS then why go cheap on the PC? The specifications for this PC were very clear: 4 GB max.

Fast and quiet PC for a reasonable price. If you are looking for a reliable PC for surfing, Office, etc., then this is a great deal. If you are looking for a power gaming PC, go elsewhere

A lot of the software had to be updated, but that is understandable considering when this PC was probably produced. No manuals prvided

Not worth the money

better off buying a Gateway or HP

None, gave it 1 egg cause I had to in order to post this, lol

Not worth the money better off purchasing a Gateway or HP, memory on the motherboard is limited to 4gb. Gateway or HP will give your 6gb or 8gb. Dell seem to make a practice of cheap desktop with limited upgrades for the RAM

A Sleeper (cont'd)

E8400 chip includes Intel's VT. This Vostro works well with the XP Mode beta using Microsoft's Virtual PC add-on

Good Econo box!

deffinitely not a high-end rig, so I wouldn't buy it as a gaming machine, or to render graphics, but if you just need a basic web/word machine, this is definatley a good choice

Great value for money, gives you the option of vista or XP, looks good, intelligently laid out. Will be buying more to replace my work place computers

could always be cheaper I suppose, nothing of note yet
