A sweet little PC at a great price

I would recommend this PC to replace any aging desktop. Migration of files from systems older than Windows 7 will not work (Thanks, Microsoft) without 3rd party utilities. I had to manually migrate profiles from an old Vista machine. Overall, not a...

This is a sweet little desktop. Cheapest 4th generation Core i5 I found. Very peppy, even with the 4GB installed. The 4GB uses one slot, and there are 3 slots to expand. Max 32GB, but with 3 cheap 4GB DIMMs it can be a 16GB powerhouse ; The 1TB drive...

No DVI port: Has DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA. HDMI to DVI adapters are very cheap, though, and most monitors these days have HDMI anyway ; Proprietary power supply/motherboard, hard to upgrade. 300W will not power a gaming class video card, so this is...

Alright but not WiFi/Bluetooth card.

Pretty good computer overall. Just prepare to purchase a USB WiFi adapter or a WiFi card.

It's fast enough for whatever I've thrown at it

The specs say that this computer has a WiFi/Bluetooth card, yet it does not

Should have done more research...

I've built systems for myself/clients so I didn't even think about the proprietary plugs but a client needed a new computer setup asap and bought this based on some basic hardware benchmarks, now I'm worried if anything goes wrong or want to make...

It works. I up'd the ram to 8gb and the system runs fast. Good processor for the money

Proprietary garbage! psu/mobo has a proprietary power connector which is just plain stupid. Only two sata power plugs used by the existing hdd and optical drive. Guess I could buy splitters but what I'd really like is to put a better psu in

Designed to thwart upgrades

I will avoid the Gateway / Acer products altogether from now on, and I advise you do so as well.

Acceptable performance, quiet

The specs show it has an open PCI Express slot for a graphics card, but the PSU does not have a single spare connection. In fact, you would need a proprietary power cable for the motherboard just to add a hard drive ; You cannot replace the PSU because...

A lot of propriety parts - limited upgrade capability

I was looking for a cheap, reasonably powerful computer to act as a backup server and a media server. I wanted to be able to transcode video on the fly and to do it fast. It does transcode quickly. I'm satisfied with that. I wanted to put two extra...

This thing runs very quietly ; Fast processor ; USB 3.0 ; Display Port

Proprietary Motherboard (Acer Inc, Might be MS-7829 Ver 1) - This mother board takes a 12 pin ATX powersupply ; Proprietary300W Power supply (FSP Group FSP300-40AABA) - Only provides power to the motherboard via a 12pin ATX connector and a 4pin 12V...

Great System for the Price

The OS Sucks, but that can be replaced. What should be looked at is the hardware. If you're experienced or very persistant, you can get Win 7 64 bit installed without issue. This makes it a great machine for your average user. This is not top of the...

Wireless ; Cost ; Speed ; Processor speed ; Max Memory - 32GB ; HDMI port

Windows 8 - This is a con, because I hate windows 8, not an actual flaw in the product. I change UEFI to CSM boot and install win 7 anyway, so it's not a big deal

A diamond in the rough!

Although I complained about the 300W PSU, I will tell you that this is the quietest PSU you'll never hear. I'm talking "head up against it, I can't hear it" quiet! I hated to lose that quiet PSU on an unknown, but I did stick in a 700W PSU which is...

Fast i5 quad-core, 8GB RAM (expandable to 16), 1 TB hard drive, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB 3.0, DVD writer, good space to work around in during upgrades, nice looking design

Lame video card (for gaming), no bluray, relatively low-power PSU
