Gateway GT5670 Review

The Gateway GT5670 is a new budget desktop aimed directly athome users. This desktop is sold in retail stores like BestBuy, Circuit City, and Office Depot, which is generally easier for families to purchase, insteadof ordering online directly from...

Operated very cool and quiet ; Lower power consumption ; Lots of expansion possibilities

Noisy hard drive

For a budget desktop, the Gateway GT5670 is average in terms of speed, and offers many areas that can be upgraded orexpanded. System performance is more than adequate for most home users, andwith the installation of a relatively inexpensive graphics...

A perfect mid-range gaming machine.

Installed an XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX and it runs most modern games on Mid to High settings, depending on the game. Plays Bioshock perfectly on everything set to high, assuming you add the same video card I did. The integrated video is ok, but it only...

This is a great machine! Provides lots of room for upgrades! Add a decent video card and it's ready for mid range gaming. This best system for the money in regards to what it offers. 3 Gigs of ram, upgradeable to 4 Gigs, 2.1GHz tri-core processor,...

You may want to upgrade the PS if you plan on using a decent video card because the one supplied is only 300 watts. The mouse and keyboard feel flimsy. Other than those two things the system is mint

Good Bang:Buck Ratio

After the GPU & PSU upgrade runs HL2 series on High settings, FEAR on med/high, Ghost Recon AW med. AND with 3 gigs of RAM you can comfortably get rid of your page file instead of using ready boost and waiting for an error when your jumpdrive goes bad....

Lots of power for little buck! 2.1 3x is definitely better than average. and the fast FSB and HT helps a lot. Vista Home premium is working really well. no errors thus far. Turned off UAC right away to get rid of the security pop ups

stock gpu wasn't bad, ran HL2 and FEAR well enough. and the PSU lacked at only 300W. $100 nvidia 8600gt and $40 450W PSU from the egg and it was ready to game! Just to be safe I also modified the case to fit a 120mm fan instead of the stock 80mm just...

Very Quiet and Fast

Great product for the price. I don't mind uninstalling all junk software, I figure it helps them keep the price down.

Like everyone says, its quiet and fast. Has a great RAM/HD/CPU for the price

Onboard video is only VGA, you really do need to buy a PCI x 16 video card. And careful messing around with those metal things covering the card slots, they'll fall out of there like a house of cards once you let them loose. Ditch the speakers, mouse...

A lot of speed for little money

Nice buy for the money. Would recommend upgrading the graphics card and PSU for gamers. Gateway support was good on my mobo failure and I wouldn't mind buying another PC from them.

Great processor for the money, good amount of RAM. Nice motherboard with lots of expansion room. Good value. Front media card reader

Motherboard failure after two months but good support from Gateway fixed this issue. 320 GB HD space is enough for me but I would've liked 500. Weak GPU. Lots of preinstalled bloatware

Excellent buy - Super fast and very quiet

Very pleased with this machine for the price. Gateway support is unobtrusive but looks to be helpful.

This computer is extremely fast and amazingly quiet. The included software I did not need was easy to remove ; I like the enhanced search functions on both Vista and Office 2007 which I also installed

Vista does not support my Canon MP 530 printer. It works but does not communicate back on status ( ink levels etc) and the error messages were annoying

Good for the money.

All around this is a nice setup for the money given you uninstall all the trial-ware and don't mind upgrading the graphics if you are a gamer or are using the computer for media. The processor and memory make this system blaze through Vista and...

Very fast. The Phenom 8400 and 3 gigs of ram will show up. I haven't had a lag since turning it on; can't say the same for my old system ; 320 GB of hard drive space is pretty roomy for me ; Some nice features. DVD burner with LabelFlash, memory card...

The ridiculous amount of trial-ware programs, unneeded startup programs, and advertisements that took a good hour or two to remove, coming from an advanced user. Kept only 10-20% of what was preinstalled ; Weak graphics card. It's about the quality of...

Good bang for your buck

Again, pick up a new video card, keyboard & mouse, and speaker system. That'll make this computer pretty effin awesome.

This machine is a beast. I'm fairly impressed with the lacking amount of bloatware and the features this thing packs. After putting in a better graphics card and a 19" widescreen LCD, this machine is everything I need. The front ports are a separate...

The built-in graphics suck for mostly everything. I popped in a budget card, VisionTek Radeon HD 3450, and it's wonderful. The mouse it comes with is a big bulky even for my semi-large hands and I'd suggest picking up something better. Same for the...
