Not so great in the long run

Compact & sleek

Unreliable audio: this thing is as stubborn as a child when it comes to outputting audio over HDMI. Seriosly it seems like magic when it actually works ; The WiFi card seems not to like to play nice with routers. Caps out at 1.5MBps with a Netgear 450

Great once you know the limitations

I bought this strictly as a Home Theater PC (HTPC). My first one had to be returned as the fan sounded like a chainsaw. Obvious manufacturing defect and replaced by Newegg hassle-free. Second one setup to run Windows 7 and XBMC (now Kodi) as a HTPC. It...

Form factor a winner. Powerful enough for HTPC use. Quiet. Simple setup via HDMI

Some quality issues it would seem. Built-in RF would be nice. Only 4 USB ports (But this is a trade-off with the small form factor)

Didn't live to expectations

Very disappointed with both the product as it rolled out and the failure to own up to the issues. Seems that Gigabyte regrets the whole line, as they no longer seem to actively market and have not seen fit to add it into their product line under Support.

No Backup BIOS

Disconnected the battery for a 30 minutes hoping the BIOS would reset. NADA!

Works nicely when it wants to work

This unit decided to take one of it's many dumps right in the middle of a BIOS update ; This is 2014, why only put a single $5 BIOS chip on any motherboard

My GIGABYTE GB-BXi5-4200 Freezes During BIOS Update

$400 for the Brix, $90 for the RAM and $85 for the SSD. I gotta get this thing working again.

Small, Not Power Hungry, Quiet. When it works it works well

Intermittent lock ups. This thing would work for a few weeks without any problems (except Firefox would crash every few hours) ; I had the F3 bios and saw that there was a F5 BIOS available ; Downloaded F5 and in the middle of flashing it froze. Now...

Gigabyte BRIX 4200

Great size and power in a small package. I have been a Mini ITX user for the past 5 years and now I am going to use the BRIX setup. I love the portability compared to the Mini ITX, the new setup with 4 USB 3.0 and the headphone jack plus it now...

Not really a con but be sure to use 1.35V memory. I tried 1.50V memory and it would not boot with the display on, changed the memory and system came right up
