The HP Elite Slice is a small, chic enterprise desktop with perks for the work-at-home crowd

HP's slick Apple Mini-size Windows system may be meant for corporate boardrooms and cubicles, but it's a nice option for people who work from home and spend a lot of time on conference calls.

It's small, attractive and cleverly designed for expansion, and the voice-optimized meeting-room configuration comes with touch call controls.

The wireless conference-call audio isn't terrific and practicality mars its prettiness.

For work-at-home folks who spend a lot of time on calls, can hook up to wired internet and use mostly official Microsoft/Windows 10 communication tools, this compact enterprise system offers some useful features.

HP Elite Slice

The HP Elite Slice is a modular small-form-factor business PC that can be used in conference rooms or at your employees' desks, and can be switched to different configurations in just seconds.

Attractive, compact body. Modular accessories. Solid sound from Audio Module. Excellent connectivity options, including USB-C.

Few modules available at launch. Uses hard drive instead of SSD storage. Only 4GB of RAM.

Although it's configured for conference use, the system as presented is a bit short on RAM and would be better served by replacing the hard drive with a speedier SSD. That said, I really like the idea of something you can use for conferences in the...

HP Elite Slice Review: Mighty and Modular Mini PC

The HP Elite Slice offers exactly as much PC as you need, and nothing more. The compact size and business-friendly features make it a great choice for conference rooms or offices, and the built-in conference-calling features will be a welcome addition...

Compact, attractive design ; Modular customization ; Better-than-average performance

Limited selection of modules

The HP Elite Slice is a stackable system that gives you a highly capable mini PC with an array of custom features.

HP Elite Slice review: A good mini PC, but not a great one

This smart-looking modular PC performs well, but not well enough to justify the price

Sleek design ; Great for multitasking ; Fast

Only three modules are currently available ; Very expensive

However, although this can be a good PC, it’s not a great one. The only thing that makes its high price more palatable is its performance, but if that’s your chief concern, the Magnus ER51060 beat the Elite Slice’s multitasking benchmark score by more...

HP Elite Slice review

Cell phones are great for a lot of things, but they're really not designed for conference calls. And those are what most people dialing in from home these days use. Or they're on a laptop with a headset that can't quite filter out the barking dog and...

Great package and performance

Great product for the price, a bit cheaper and spec'd better than a Mac mini. The one issue would be all USB ports are consumed by the default mouse/keyboard combo. You'll likely need a hub.

Customized the processor, ram, and added SSD, optical drive, and speakers for this and so far extremely happy with this product. Love the size which is so compact for what it is (a high performance desktop) and makes it so easy to travel with and just...

Beautiful but No WIFi capability

Beautiful computer; I am sure it is a strong runner; but they sent it out without the necessary innards to make WIFI connections possible. In the process of correcting this issue; once that is done I am sure nothing less than five stars will be my...
