HP Envy 700-030qe

The HP Envy 700-030qe is a mainstream multimedia desktop that goes for $1,000 less than similarly equipped systems used to go for.

Good gaming performance. Excellent day-to-day performance. Blu-ray drive. Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements. 802.11b/g/n WiFi

Could use a data storage drive. Locked CPU. Some bloatware.

Essentially, the HP Envy 700-030qe is a competent and compliant multimedia desktop. It gives you what you'd expect at this price point: very good multimedia benchmark performance, a good amount of day-to-day performance, and some gaming prowess....

HP Envy 700-030qe review: It's the components that matter

HP makes some good component choices for the Envy 700-030qe, but the overall package is somewhat imperfect.

Powerful 4th generation Intel processor ; Quiet, sleek and compact ; Blu-ray burner

A single 256GB SSD for storage ; Middle-of-the-road video card ; Just one PCIe x16 slot (occupied)

The HP Envy 700-030qe is an above-average computer that’s reasonably priced.

HP Envy 700-030qe

The HP Envy 700-030qe is a member of the class of systems that used to be called high-end multimedia desktop PCs. The fact that you can get all that power for over a $1,000 less than you used to is amazing.

Microsoft mess

The computer seemed to be fine. My problems were with Windows 8 and trying to upgrade to Windows 8.1. I wasted 2.5 days downloading updates to Win 8 and trying to download/install Win 8.1. Never could get it to work, had an awful time trying to find...

Replaced my XP out-dated computer

I've had this computer about 2 months. I'm very happy with the speed and quality of the computer. It has great features. For me the best option was being able to go wireless. Windows 8 is an adjustment from what I'm accustomed to but I realize a common...
