HP Pavilion a6060a

It may not be the highest spec PC available today, but for families with basic needs (and the option to grow) it ticks all the right boxes without breaking the bank.

HP Pavilion a6030n

Sharp new design; solid lower midrange configuration; improved expandability over older Pavilions; HP's support remains one of the best in the industry.

HP continues to load up its desktops with annoying trialware.

The new looks are nice, but we're more glad that HP has redesigned its new midtower Pavilion desktop with an eye on expandability. That and the robust service make this $760 desktop a solid buy for anyone in need of a straightforward day-to-day PC.

Gaming Potential

out of the box this isn't a high-end PC. not sure how important processors will be to Vista gaming, but a little extra work and the right upgrades will really turn this thing around.

i installed a Sapphire X1950XT into this model, which fit fine, along with an Audigy sound card from my previous comp. the new power supply barely fit, i think because the DVD drive that comes with it is a bit long ; the point is: i was able to fit...

as confirmed by another reviewer, the intel graphics on this thing is absolute balls. i had to purchase a 600 watt power supply by Ultra to power a new g-card ; also, while taking out old power supply i accidentally knocked off one of the SATA...

I replaced the telephone modem with a Wireless network adapter(I could have used one of the other PCI slots, but i was worried about the PSU overloading due to the Video card) and it works fine. I didn't actually buy this at Newegg, because i found it...

The newer Core 2 model(The E6320 has twice the L2 Cache of the E6300), Card Reader, 2GB of DDR2 533 Memory, all make this computer very capable with Windows Vista. This computer is actually faster than I expected. Inexpensive for the power

The integrated graphics are some of the worst out there (Intel on-board graphics suck), so I installed an ATI Radeon X1050, and it's much better now. If you buy this, I recommend getting a low-end/mid range graphics card for it(high end graphics cards...

HP Pavilion a6000n(RX885AA) Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 1GB DDR2 250GB NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE Windows Vista Home Premium - Retail

Great price for an average everday use computer.

Lots of pre-installed software that I didn't really need.

XP on a6000n

Nice prebuilt machine for the money.

HP has 0 support for XP on this machine, but it is possible to install it fine.

HP Pavilion a6060a

I've had mine for about a month, I use it for basic graphic design, basic document processing, videos & music & some gaming.

It's a decent shell without spending too much for a new PC. The processor is sufficient for most home users. The package looks great and has some useful software included. The CD/DVD burner is where most of the money goes, the Lightscribe technology is...

Running Vista chews up the RAM, and when it's time to upgrade you'll notice there's 2 x 512MB sticks rather than the one. This is a real pain if you want to upgrade to the max 4GB the system can handle. Too much useless software included. No space to...
