HP Z1 G2

The seriously expensive HP Z1 G2 is an all-in-one workstation desktop that puts massive computing power into a space-saving form factor.

Brilliant, huge touch screen. Expandable all-in-one chassis. Supports 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi. DisplayPort in/out. Solid-state drives (SSDs). Includes articulating hinge and VESA mounts.

Very expensive. Limited expansion.

The HP Z1 G2 has the power to do serious work in a graphics organization, architectural firm, or movie production house. Because of its lofty price tag, however, we see this as more of a chief executive's showpiece than a workstation user's dream...

HP Z1 G2 Workstation Review

With the Z1 G2 workstation, HP is hitting a lot of high notes. Highly customizable, intensely powerful, and endlessly useful, the newset HP workstation is a substantial upgrade versus last year's model. With everything tucked neatly behind the screen,...

Need a monster device that looks as good as it performs? Give the HP Z1 G2 a look. It’s not svelte, but it is powerful. The screen is lively and responsive, and we had quite a bit of fun gaming with it. Even with normal use, there was plenty of reason...

HP Z1 G2 AIO Workstation Review

Compact workplace. HP has had an all-in-one workstation in its portfolio for quite some time. Despite the compact build, the Z1 is intended to be a match for conventional desktop stations in performance, maintainability and flexibility. We tested just...

casing's stability, build, maintenance and upgrade options, fast card reader and high-speed USB 3.0 ports, type and number of audio jacks, screen quality, system performance, CAD performance, load operating noise, 36 month warranty

heavy and bulky, idle operating noise, screen settings, rear-sided ports accessibility, DisplayPort 1.1 doesn't support 4K resolution, price

HP's all-in-one Z1 G2 workstation embodies a compact computer concept that makes an attractive-looking and high-performance impression on a tidy workplace. Thanks to the modular design and well-conceived casing design, the user does not have to waive...

HP Z1 G2 Review

An Intel Xeon processor helps this powerful workstation take care of tasks quickly. And PC users who like to customize their machines will appreciate the HP Z1 G2's easy-open design.

Easy-open design for replacing parts ; Thunderbolt 2.0 ports ; Fast Intel Xeon performance ; Booming audio ; Adobe Photoshop CC included

Expensive ; Extremely heavy ; Mushy keyboard

The HP Z1 G2 is a robust, massive and highly customizable all-in-one workstation with a dazzling 27-inch touch display.

HP Z1 G2 review

An upgrade for HP's powerful, user-upgradable all-in-one workstation.

Superb all-in-one CPU and GPU performance ; High-quality screen ; Upgradable internals ; Thunderbolt 2 ports

Extremely bulky ; Limited graphics and CPU upgrades ; Expensive

Although the first-generation HP Z1 felt like a proof of concept, the HP Z1 G2 is a truly powerful all-in-one. It may not be quite enough to make desktop 3D workstations obsolete, but it undoubtedly has a place in design studios.

HP Z1 G2 Workstation review

The HP Z1 G2 is the second version of HP's 27in all-in-one PC workstation. It's aimed at professional design studios, and comes with an nVdia Quadro graphics card, and an Intel Xeon processor with up to 32 GB of ECC system memory. See also: Apple iMac...

Although you can't upgrade every component inside it, the HP Z1 G2 is undoubtedly the most flexible all-in-one ever made, and for users of CAD and 3D design software, it's one of the most powerful. Although Apple's fully-loaded 27in iMac has faster...

HP Z1 G2 review

HP's revamped all-in-one workstation is more than an iMac-a-like - but is it better than a desktop? We put one to the test.

The HP Z1 G2 is an excellent alternative to the iMac if you prize power over beauty or screen quality – and it's the best all-in-one PC for creative work for photography, design, illustration, animation and video post-production – but I’m still not...
