Intel NUC5i3RYK Mini PC (Broadwell Core i3-5010U) Review

Cunning. Intel's NUC5iRYK configured with a Broadwell Core i3 is a mini-PC based on laptop hardware. It hardly exhibited any weaknesses in the test, but gaming is not one of its strengths.

Compact build, Small power supply unit, Interfaces, Maintenance / upgrade options

Performance throttling during high graphics and processor load, Sensitive high-gloss upper side

Like in the previous test of the Core i5 NUC, we can draw a positive conclusion for the Core i3 version in the smaller casing (RYK). The little dwarf scores with its compact casing, appealing design, and good build. The components are easy to access...

Intel NUC Kit NUC5i3RYK (Core i3-5010U) Review

Intel's latest NUCs have landed and they're powered by Broadwell

With a price tag of £234, the NUC5i3RYK kit isn't likely to leave you much change from £300 once you've factored in an M.2 SSD and memory. However, the Core i3 proved to be a match for previous generation Core i5-based NUCs in many of our tests and...

The product is designed wrong for the wifi

Everything works fine if you don't need wifi

The wifi works, but the antenna is stuck under the motherboard. I did numerous speed tests and could only get a few Mbps at best. Then I took it apart and had the antenna hanging out of the box, hey presto, lightning fast internet! So I can either use...

Easy and awesome. No hiccups.

I ordered a VESA side-mount and mounted the NUC on the back of a monitor with internal speakers and wall-mounted the whole shebang with wireless keyboard and mouse for my less-than-technical mother-in-law. for about $600 with OS and monitor. The system...

Fast setup. Installed two RAM chips and M2 SSD, turned it on and loaded Windows 10 from USB without any drama. literally 20 minutes from opening boxes to browsing on WiFi. Zero drivers needed, though I did have them ready to go, downloaded from Intel's...

The slightly taller version with the 2.5" SSD would be cheaper to build because the 2.5" drives are cheaper per gig.

Great product if you pay attention and read Intel's product description

Newegg, I aim this at your site maintenance people. Please correct your configurator so that it provides compatible hardware. You will save yourself a lot of headaches from returns.

Very small, energy efficient unit. Does what it's aimed at.

The issue here is not the unit per say, but NewEgg making a terrible error inferring this unit supports 2.5 inch drives. It does not. There is only M.2 support on this device. So if you want this unit, keep that in mind. You will have to buy an M.2...

Best Intel NUC Value Available!

I used the Samsung 850 EVO M.2 250GB SSD hard drive and the Crucial 8GB DDR3L kit CT2KIT51264BF160B and they work perfectly. I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I don't know why Newegg offers kits with a single SODIMM that sacrifice dual-channel speed and...

Tiny, Machined aluminum chassis keep components cool, USB 3.0, HD 5500 Graphics, Quiet, Easy to add HDD / Memory, Fast, Great HTPC!

None so far.

Great Box

I setup this up with Win10 Pro from a clean install and installed the 64 bit drivers from Intel's site. No problems with wireless RF keyboard and mouse. Installed my IP Camera software in less than 3 hours I was recording video.. Nice as a Media Center...

Nice and small. Low power usage . Lots of features like wireless, gigabit LAN, hardrive options. This really is a complete computer in a small format

Solid & runs good

Buy this cable at checkout: Item=N82E16882678051 its "Mini HDMI(Type C) to HDMI (type A) Male" Be realistic in your expectations of this. Its a tiny general use desktop PC. It is NOT a gamer unit or Media Server. Try playing FarCry on it and such and...

Excellent tiny device. Good quality of build also. Has a dynamic memory settings in the bios.-- I didn't need it though. I own 3 of the C/P models as well. What i love most is its whisper quiet. 1 is going to be a desktop PC and 2 are going to be media...

New egg got rid of our questions & answers section across the entire website. Did you think we wouldn't notice? That Intel updater utility only D/L 's not installs, because you have to click through EULA obviously.
