Review: Shuttle XPC X200 M

Here's a surprisingly well-kept secret: Windows Vista Ultimate packs some killer DVR features. So, in turn, does the XPC, a media-center PC inconspicuous enough to...

Plays and records TV shows TiVo-style. Enough RAM and processing power (2 gigs and 2.2 GHz, respectively) to run Vista at a healthy clip. Sits horizontally or vertically. Built-in Wi-Fi

A single TV tuner, and it’s analog. Pretty pricey for a PC, even one as compact as this. Generic wireless mouse and keyboard. Small, nonstandard remote

Shuttle XPC X200 review

Shuttle's XPC X100 PC impressed us with its design this past summer, but its feature set lagged behind similar systems', such as Apple's Mac Mini and the WinBook Jiv Mini . With its updated XPC X200M, Shuttle brings the features in-line with what we...

Attractive, compact design; better basic Windows Vista performance than we anticipated; more features than the previous model.

Disappointing overall performance compared to that of similar systems; no HD optical drive option; opening the box voids the warranty, discouraging DIY upgrades (although the interior is tough to navigate).

Shuttle's updated supersmall home theater PC introduces a few new features to bring it inline with similar diminutive living room PCs. It also came to us with Windows Vista Home Premium. If you're in it for the looks (and you don't want HD video),...

Shuttle XPC X200 Review

The Shuttle XPC X100 was unique in its appearance and appealed to a niche segment of the market. That same group of enthusiasts may be delighted to know that Shuttle has planned another version. Geared for the media age, we have the new Shuttle XPC X200.

Shuttle XPC X200M mini PC

We gave a brief rundown of the Shuttle X200 at the beginning of January and now it's time for a proper look at the new media centre PC. Externally, the X200 is near-identical to the X100HA that we previously reviewed as it uses the same sleek case. So...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

A decent HTPC

I have used media center for about four years. I have a mobile CPU (T7600). It uses mobile DDR2 but a desktop hard drive. It includes a slim remote, but the IR sensor is compatible with any media center compatible remote (I use the Harmony 880).

Quiet, very flexible positioning due to size, includes tuner and FM radio, has built in IR-sensor for the remote instead of a USB dongle. Has SPDIF output. Front USB port

Intel GMA 950--Vista, typically quick using it specifically for the DVR purpose (nothing more), slows to an absolute crawl when it's playing a video and moving around the media center interface at the same time. Very slow USB performance. No HD-Blu Ray...
